Documents over 1 mb not searched by NEW 'Search inside attachment' search engine
I was delighted when I saw this feature added because I have been harping on about it for ages. There is a big catch, however, which Pbwiki haven't told you about. It will not search documents over 1 mb. That is the limit. Apparently it will search the first mb of text of larger files but this is currently broken and it is being looked at by the engineers. But what is the point of a search engine searching the first mb when the word you are looking for is in the second mb?? Some search engine! I have all the extra space to load up larger files but will not be able to find anything in them. A great idea poorly implemented unfortunately

Inappropriate? This is an Alpha feature, which means that it's still being tested. Alpha features should be considered as features-in-progress. We are working towards the capability to search through the text of the entire document and this Alpha feature represents a key step in that process, as it allows us to get important feedback from its implemenation, including any bugs or limitations. Thank you for your observation about the 1MB limit!

Inappropriate?Hi Adam,
Firstly, if I thought it was still in Alpha testing I would not have posted here. I thought it was a full feature release for general consumption as it is posted on the pbwiki website. Can you confirm which stage are we at in implementation please cause I'm confused now! I have fed my comments back to the alpha team previously as well and I did tell them that I was going to publicise the restrictions here.
I’m confused

Inappropriate?Hi Seanmac,
Thanks for pointing out the posting on the website. I was mistaken and have verified that this feature is not an Alpha feature (it's not on the list of optional Alpha features to test). Sorry for any confusion that I might've caused. However, thank you again for your observation and I'll make sure that this information gets posted internally.
