Inappropriate?You can't. You may only delete them, using the 'Delete this comment' link. If you do not see a 'Delete this comment' link, then you are not logged in as the admin (or editor). Users with 'writer' privileges cannot delete comments.

Inappropriate?my students want to be able to edit their comments once they've posted. They should be able to do this.

Inappropriate?Users should be able to edit their own comments. Now the only way is to completely delete a comment or post another one. Not very friendly. -
Inappropriate?I agree. When a wiki is all about editing whatever you like -- you should be able to edit your own posted comments.
