How do search engines use the tags on my wiki? Should I use one word phrases or seperate each word with a comma?

Some search engines will use your wiki tags (not page tags) to help them figure out if your site is relevant to a search request.
Most search engines pay more attention to the actual content you have in your wiki. If you place tags that say "dog food", but your wiki only contains content about "cat food", then you aren't fooling anyone.
Yes, you can use phrases that are separated by commas. Each phrase is inside the double quote signs as shown by "heavy metal" below.
Example: cars, "heavy metal", education ...
