Firefox 3 RC2 search box ddoouubbllee ttyyppeess
I'm running Firefox 3 RC2 (Mac) and the search box (pbwiki 2) doesn't work correctly. Every character typed appears twice. This behavior doesn't happen in Safari or Firefox 2 (Windows).
I have a screen shot of this here:

Inappropriate?ha!
Well, I think someone just needs to go to any pbwiki 2.0 wiki with Firefox 3 RC2 and see if they can reproduce. It happens on every blog I try, even those that I didn't create. -
Inappropriate? This is probably an RC2 problem (when did that even get released?!) but I'll make sure we look into it.
No fun trying to type half a key :P
-
Inappropriate? Thanks, Casey. RC2 has been out for about a week now. http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/...

Inappropriate?Hmm. It's working fine on my PC (now that I've found and DL'ed it, thanks!), and my co-worker has it on his Mac, and neither of us can reproduce it.
Did you keep any of your add-ons when you updated to RC2? -
Inappropriate?I know we've seen this come up (also un-reproducibly, at least on our side) with Safari and Camino, so it's my Occam's Razor theory that this is a problem with Browser X + Macs that also happens to be really hard to replicate. We'll see how valid that is :P
There doesn't seem to be much in the release notes about known issues, and nothing I could see relating to Search functions.
I will have Engineering look into this though.
Thanks for finding this :)

Inappropriate?Hmmm...I do have a few add-ons, but none that I think would affect the search box like this. Maybe, though.

Inappropriate?Judi: Make a new profile (it'll not delete your addons, but create a separate 'workspace' for firefox) and try it then. You can then switch back to your regular profile. If it works with a new profile, it's an addon/corruption problem. if not, it's something else.

this solves the problem

Inappropriate?Well, just switching to a blank profile and back seems to have fixed it. Very strange.
I’m happy

Thanks for the update!
