Folder Assign Not Working Today?
I've been creating pages and assigning them to folders over the past week and everything is peachy. But tonight the assign-to-folder function isn't working.
When I click to assign the page into a folder, it loads a blank page called /folder.php. But then nothing. The page never is assigned to the folder. This was working before. Why not now?
Is there a limit to the number of pages in a folder? This started at 47...
...edit...
OK, some new information. I've done more pages, and new pages are going into the folders correctly. However 7 pages are not. Can't figure out why. The folder they are going into has 50 pages in it now. Here are the seven pages, URLS, which will not folder correctly:

Inappropriate?Hi Marc,
I'm sorry you've had some problems. I recently moved some pages into folders in one of my wikis with no problem. I also tried naming some new pages to match the names you used.
Everything seems fine now. Are you still having the same problem? -
Inappropriate?Yes. On the pages I've linked above, foldering is still not working. The pages before in the sequence worked. The pages after in the sequence worked. But these 7 mysteriously won't.
I'm copying these pages over from a 1.0 wiki. Do you suppose there is anything in the page code that is conflicting with the folder action? I'd really like to resolve this. -
Inappropriate?I created a couple of pages in the 2.0 Forum Demo Wiki and placed them in a folder named test. They appeared to work fine, so that would eliminate the page name as the only problem.
-
Inappropriate? That seems strange to me. 40 plus other pages worked, and they are named with the same naming convention as the pages that don't work. The only difference is the date part of the page title. Why would that make a difference?
-
Inappropriate? For example.... I'm working on transferring more pages tonight. I just did two pages. One copied over and foldered perfectly. The other one copied over and is exhibiting the "hang" when I select a folder for it. I can see no difference in the code of the page. The titles are essentially the same, with the date text being different. Why would one work and not the other?
Worked:
https://bridgewiki.pbwiki.com/Daily%2...
Didn't Work:
https://bridgewiki.pbwiki.com/Daily%2... -
Inappropriate?maybe the underlying PBwiki mechanisms see the pages as 'history' versions ... and the mechanisms are confused?
-
Inappropriate? You should really open a trouble ticket (by using the 'help' link in the upper right corner of your wiki). The programmers can easily try this for themselves on your wiki, and, being programmers, they can see what internal mechanisms are failing in your particular case.
-
Inappropriate?Thanks.
-
Inappropriate?Hi Marc,
Looks like the issue is resolved. Give it a go and let me know if you experience any problems.
-
Inappropriate? It looks like it is unchanged, at least on my end. The following pages will not go into a folder. I try to folder them and I end up getting back a blank white page with this URL: https://bridgewiki.pbwiki.com/folder.php. It hangs there until I manually change the page. Upon refreshing the original page, it shows that it has not been put into a folder. What makes this even weirder is that I have continued to add more pages (transferring page content from another wiki) and the pages I've added since the one day when I had this problem all folder just fine. But these 6 continue to have the problem.

However, I really do appreciate the time you are putting into hunting down this bug. Thanks!
I’m still sad and confused.

Inappropriate?I'm back on the case!

Inappropriate? After a flurry of email, Rachel and her team seem to have solved it. While the details are hazy to me, the pages that weren't working (as you can see in the URLs above) were not https pages, while all the rest of my wiki is. All the pages with https prefixes worked, and the few that for some strange reason were only http didn't. They corrected these pages and now they work. So, problem solved.
I’m thankful!

Inappropriate?Hey Rachel,
I've come across a handful of pages in my transfer process that have the same problem as the ones above. Would you wave your magic wand over these pages, so that they will folder correctly? Thanks.
Pages are:
http://bridgewiki.pbwiki.com/Daily%20...
http://bridgewiki.pbwiki.com/Daily%20...
http://bridgewiki.pbwiki.com/Daily%20...
http://bridgewiki.pbwiki.com/Daily%20...
As before they are missing the https, and instead have the http. Thanks!
I’m looking forward to your magic help.

Hey marc - just try adding https in the address bar and reloading the page. You should have no problems adding them to the folder then :)
