French wiki and backup
Hello,
I'm french so please forgive english errors :-)
I need to use the backup function in order to read my wiki's texts offline.
These text are writted in french so they use a lot of acents "é "è "ê.. these caracters do not cause trouble online but backuped files replace "éby "é", "èby "è" ...
This makes my files quitte hard to read. Is there a way to avoid this problem ?
Thanks by advance for your help and your service in general.

Inappropriate? It sounds like the backups are encoded differently than the wiki pages. I'll ask around and see if there's any way to fix this. Thanks for bringing this up!

Inappropriate?I talked to our head engineer, and he thinks it might be the program you're viewing the backups in.
If it's possible, you can try a different program like Microsoft Word or Open Office and see if they render the characters better.
If that still doesn't work, you may also try opening the file in a web browser - it does not have to be connected to the internet, but it should do a good job of understanding the characters.
If none of these work, please contact Support by emailing support @ pbwiki, and we'll see if there's anything else we can do.

Inappropriate?Hello,
I'm using Internet Explorer 5 or Firefox 2 to view backuped files.
I think I've find a explanation to my problè. Backuped files are writed in html but accents are not converted. So my files contains
<h1>Calendrier Erè</h1>
instead of
<h1>Calendrier Erèbe</h1>
witch is correct html code.
I've find a way to solve my problem, I don't know why it works but it works... I open my html files with windows notepad and save it (without any change) then I reopen the saved file with IE and accents appears normally.
Thanks a lot for your work.
I’m thankful
