Inappropriate?Hi Stan,
Can you tell us the error you are getting. The exact text of the error message and what you were doing would be very helpful toward helping us help you.
Please see this page on creating URL links (links to websites).

Inappropriate?I am using PBwiki for a class. I and my students have been seeing this error a lot, particularly in IE7. Here's my description:
When using the Point-and-Click editor, I try to add a link, usually a URL. When I click on the OK button, the status line of the web browser (at the very bottom of the window) displays the message "Error on page."
I hope you can resolve this soon. My students are new to the web and wikis and it was very confusing for some of them, since we had to switch to source mode.
Thanks,
Bill -
Inappropriate? Are you making sure to select the "URL" type in the drop down box? Is the link usable, or do you get an error when you click it? I don't have Internet Explorer here, but I'll try it later on today, and see if I can figure out what's up. In the meantime, someone else might answer your question, so keep an eye out!
I’m poking around in different browsers

Inappropriate?Yes, URL is the selected link type and the URL is valid. I've posted a screen shot at http://faculty.cua.edu/kules/ErrorOnP....

Inappropriate?Sorry. I was not able to duplicate your error using IE7 at my home. It's possible that you may have some problem locally that's interfering with this dialog.
I suggest you try it at home yourself to see if it's only a problem at school. If it's a problem on every PC at school, I'd ask your IT department what they are doing to cause this problem. Otherwise, it may only be a problem on certain PCs.
I wish I could give you a quick fix, but it's a long and bumpy road when different computers give you different results. -
Inappropriate?Yup. Happens on my laptop at home too on IE7, but not on Firefox 2.0.
I noticed that it didn't happen when I start from an empty page. It does happen when I edit a page that already has a lot of text on it. Perhaps there is some interaction with the amount or kind of text in the page?
Yes, I agree that intermittent or inconsistent bugs are the hardest to diagnose and resolve.

Inappropriate?Hi - Have you had a chance to look at this? I'd like to get it resolved for my students.

Inappropriate?I'm sorry Bill. I have not been able to duplicate this problem. I'm afraid there isn't much more I can do unless we start seeing other people with the same bug. So far, you are the only one.
I’m sorry I couldn't help
-
Inappropriate?I'll try to narrow it down to a reproducible problem. -B
