Gridlines - why won't they print? It makes people sad.
Hi! Here's a fun question for everyone ... one of the things we use our wiki for is daily work schedules. Our scheduler inputs the schedule in an Excel worksheet (separate from the wiki) and then copies/pastes that portion of the spreadsheet into the wiki page. Staff are accustomed to printing out the Excel schedule to post at various service points, and have tried to do this with the wiki schedule page. However, the schedule prints on two pages, and without gridlines. Is there any way to at least force the gridlines to appear on the printed copy? Of course, we'd rather they simply consulted the online wiki schedule, but this might help assimilation. Thanks!

Inappropriate?Hi Lisa- can you tell me how the scheduler pastes this information in? Are they using the spreadsheet plugin, or just pasting on a plain page?
-
Inappropriate?Hey Rachel -
They are copying and pasting a plain Excel page. It shows up on the wiki page as a table. Does this help?
Lisa
I’m hopeful!
-
Inappropriate? Thanks Lisa- when the table is created on the page, have them right-click on the table and choose "Table properties." You can set the border size here.
After this - when you go to print the wiki, just click the "Printable version" icon, and your gridlines should appear! Please let me know how it goes :)

Oooooh, it WORKED! How simple! But all I did was click on the browser's print icon. Where is the "Printable version" icon - I couldn't find it. I can hopefully resize the spreadsheet as well, so it will only print on one page. Thanks again! -
Hi Lisa- are you using PBwiki 1.0 or 2.0? -
1.0. I thought about switching over to 2.0, but I think it would be too cumbersome to have all the players in my organization get a PB Wiki account. That is still necessary for 2.0, correct? -
Hi Lisa- all users of 2.0 will be required to have a PBwiki Account. It's pretty painless though, and I'd definitely recommends it for all the great features! -
Inappropriate? In 1.0, there's no printable version to click on. Instead, printing is controlled by a print-specific css file (notice that when you go to print-preview, the layout is different than the original page slightly).
