How do I change my administrator password for my wiki
How do I change the password on my wiki? I am the owner of a premium wiki, which was created a long time ago, so I think it is a version 1.0 wiki. I want to change my own administrator password, not a password for other people to use.
What is the 'Change Invite Key' that shows up on the Settings > Keys and Access screen? I don't want to invite anyone to be able to edit my wiki.
Thanks

Inappropriate?Hi Dave! Haven't seen you around in a long time, but it's good to hear from you.
The Invite Key is the same as the old "wiki-wide password." We started calling it that a few months ago when we shifted emphasis to PBwiki Accounts (http://my.pbwiki.com), so that people would only use the passwords once as a way to get invited to a wiki. The keys are still private, and there are still multiple levels of keys (admin, mod, etc.), just like passwords.
So yeah, you'll want to change the admin invite key.

Inappropriate?Hi Vu,
Yes, I'm still using my wikis, but I haven't participated in the new forum much. I'm still partial to the old forum format. I can't seem to make the adjustment to the new forum.
Thanks for the explanation. I now see the Administrator level at the right side of the screen with a 'change' link next to it. When I clicked that I got the lost invite key screen. This is not very intuitive to a new user; I realize it is a remnant from the old days. I entered my administrator email address and then was able to change my password.
Another question: when I login, which side of the screen do I enter my administrator password, the right or left side? Both seem to work.
Thanks,
Dave

Inappropriate? One side should ask you for the wiki invite key (left, if I remember correctly), while the other will refer to your PBwiki Account (it's the new name for the PBwiki Identities). If both work, you probably have the same password set for both the wiki invite key AND your PBwiki Account.

Inappropriate?Rachel tells me that we added in a feature that if people get confused and type in the invite key on the right, it'll still log them in anyway. For best practices, you should still stick with the distinction I outlined above.

Inappropriate?I see it now. The left side of the login screen says 'Password / Invite Key' and the right side says 'PBwiki Account'.
And Rachel is right, I was able to log into the PBwiki Account with my invite key.
I think I understand now.
Thanks,
Dave
