TABLE - Creating and editing tables
Here I've used the Point and Click editor to create a table. One person reported that they can't get the grid lines to show up. I was able to change the border around the table but I guess you can't change the way that the grid lines display. In this case, I can see the grid lines very well in my Firefox browser, so the default setting may be fine.
Copying tables from a webpage doesn't always create a table in your Point and Click editor. Sometimes it only pastes in the formatted text. To get around this, you can try pasting the web page table into MS Excel or Open Office Spreadsheets, then copy the table from the spreadsheet and paste it into the wiki.
I created this table by copying it from my Open Office spreadsheet program.

Someone asked me how to adjust the width of the columns in a table. It's easy, just edit the page and right click into one of the cells of your table. You'll see something like this image below.
Now you select Cell Properties, and once the dialog box pops in, you will see that you can adjust many settings, including the width. (see below)
You can also change the color of cells in a table.
Just right click on a table cell and choose cell properties.
You'll be able to choose the color from a chart.

Inappropriate?That's great and we DID it! However, we want to maintain the color of the letters on the link itself (the word you click on). Our letters for "Shared ASsignments" are yellow, for example. But when we make a link out of that title, the letters become blue. (not as pretty). I suppose there is only one color an active link can be, and that is blue?

Inappropriate?We don't give you an easy way to change link colors. It can be done, but you'll have to study inline CSS Styles in order to make it happen.

Inappropriate?But I did get a good advice from Vu Nguyen, the designer of Qua. He suggested the following, and it really worked!

Okay, this is going to be a little awkward, but it's the best way to do it because of the way the Point&Click Editor handles nesting of <span>'s (you don't need to understand that). I've also confirmed that this problem is fixed in PBwiki 2.0. Anyway, without further ado: 1) Create your link like you would normally, but in the "Link Text" field, add an extra character before the link text. For example, if I'm linking to the FrontPage, I might make the link text "zFrontPage". Click OK and make your link. 2) Now, back in the main editor, highlight ONLY the real portion of the link text, which in this case would be "FrontPage". Select a different color with the color picker. That portion should now be a new color. 3) Erase the extra character (in this case, a 'z') Like I said, it's awkward, but it's definitely fixed in PBwiki 2.0, so we all have that to look forward to.
So thank god we don't all have to become programmers to create a wiki!

Inappropriate?The above information was helpful, but there is another key feature missing. While using a table...or an embedded spreadsheet, changes cannot be made on groups of cells. This feature would match how many people use tables and spreadsheets. Try to change the background color on a row of cells. Try to copy a group of 2x5 cells to move them over one column...you have to do each cell on its own. This makes the tables and spreadsheets rather difficult to use unless you've already created the content outside of the wiki. With this feature, tables and spreadsheets would be more useful in collaborative updates. -
Inappropriate?I was looking for a way to change the width of a column, but this explanation didn't work for me. First, it's not intuitive to change the cell properties of a single cell to change the width of an entire column. When I tried it, the view in the editor didn't change, which is disconcerting, but when I saved the page, it seemed that the widths of all the columns had changed proportionally. Not what I wanted.
