I accidently started a site in 1.0 but need the url name for a 2.0 site....
I meant to create a pbwiki 2.0, but started a 1.0 instead. I haven't put anything on the site yet but I did confirm/verify the site and agree to the terms so it is all up an running. I did this because I thought I could just delete it and then use the name for the 2.0 site, but it says the names cannot be recycled.
Any ideas? The site name is 'uncnasa' and I am looking to convert my old 1.0 site 'uncnasabiodiversity' to this new format but wanted to check it out first. I was also looking forward to a shorter name...
HELP!!!

Inappropriate?Hi Matt,
We're not quite ready to switch 1.0 wikis over 2.0 wikis. Is it possible to create a new 2.0 wiki with a similar name, like unc-nasa, in the meantime? -
Inappropriate?I think PBWiki needs a better way of managing the wiki domains. If I understand correctly, the current system only allows you to "burn" the name - you can't ever reuse it. There should be a way to rebirth the name as well as upgrade or change wiki types.
-
Inappropriate?sraymond, you can upgrade or change wiki types no problem- just contact support - at - pbwiki.com and we can make this change for you. You will be able to migrate 1.0 wikis to 2.0 eventually, but since 2.0 is still in beta mode we don't want to break your wiki if a new bug is discovered :)

Inappropriate?Hey Rachel - I figured this was the only way for now, but I just thought I would check. I would gladly use unc.nasa or unc-nasa or something similar but you can't use any punctuation in the site name.
-
Inappropriate?Hi Matt, you can uses dashes in wiki names
-
Inappropriate?I think at some point, hopefully, we'll be able to have access to the wiki names that were deleted. However, I know that the situation we have now is not unprecedented - many blogging websites (LiveJournal, for example) and the ever-popular MySpace don't allow you to rename your personal space easily, if at all.
