Markdown in PBWiki?
Is Markdown, or some similar wiki-style formatting, available in PBWiki? Rich-formatting certainly looks better, but too slow for jotting.

seems pretty likely.. there's been some pretty vocal requests for this feature and I think they've added to their list of issues that they plan to address.

Inappropriate?i agree with murz that markdown would really speed things up for some users, and this is something that would make or break my adoption of pbwiki (which is a really fantastic wiki in general). do any of the pbwiki developers know if and approximately when such a feature would be added?

They sort of state that there aren't specific short term plans for adding this... but if you look at the reported issues on http://xxxx.pbwiki.com/report.php, you see:
#285 - Want Classic Editor in 2.0 -- accepted
So they've "accepted" the issue, which makes me think that they've added it to the list and it's something they plan on doing eventually. -
Inappropriate?I would like to bring a large wiki I've been working on for a long time over to PBWiki from Socialtext.
I find PBwiki's notifications and comments to be so much better however the lack of a simple markup will make the process so much longer than it needs to be.
WYSIWYG is essential to allow new users to be comfortable but I would bet most folks who have been around a while would prefer the option of a simple markup to do the majority of their formatting.

Inappropriate?@Devon. I agree. I find that using the 'polished' interface actually ends up taking me longer than using markdown.
I really hope this feature comes to pbwiki as it is a deal breaker for me.
