poor keyword search results & display
We have two wikis (http://wiki.wyomingauthors.org & http://wiki.wyomingplaces.org ) and the search on both of these is now totally useless. Do a search for 'ron franscell' on the Authors wiki, and you get hits on words like 'frontier' and 'pronghorn'. Non-librarians will never do phrase search. The old search was clunky, but at least we wouldn't get a lot of bad results.
The display of these hundreds of results looks awful, too. They didn't used to look like this. I wonder what happened.

Inappropriate?Hi! I've been working on improving search quality for the wiki over the last few weeks, which is why you'll see some changes there. I'm definitely interested in getting your feedback on what's working in these changes and what's not.
I did a search for ron franscell on your wiki and the search results seemed pretty relevant. What was wrong with it?

Help me understand and I'll get it fixed for you. :)

Inappropriate?Thanks for the quick reply.
Searching for ron and getting results that pull words like frontier and pronghorn and iron just doesn't work. If I wanted truncation, I would've used some form of wildcard. Having the search default to truncation is just silly. Getting 213 hits when only 10 are relevant is a disservice. Yes, I could do a phrase search
http://wiki.wyomingauthors.org/FindPa... but most people won't know to do that. Also, why isn't it locating 'franscell' in those other 203 hits? Shouldn't the 'any words' search locate ALL words on a page, not just any one of them? It should 'and' the terms and not 'or' them for better search accuracy.

Inappropriate?I haven't heard if you are working to rectify this particular search glitch. The boss is not happy how the results are displaying, and she is very unhappy with the search as it stands now. She is so dissatisfied that she has me looking at alternative wikis to use instead of our platinum PBWiki. Please tell me you are working on this...
