Upgrading Existing Wikis to 2.0
I received an email that PBwiki 2.0 has been officially released to the public. Is it now possible to upgrade my old PBwikis to 2.0? Many thanks.

Inappropriate?I don't have a time-table for you, but it should be in the next few weeks or so. Once it's time, you'll get another email. :-)

Inappropriate? Will it happen before April 7? As a pbwiki 2.0 beta tester, I was offered to upgrade a wiki to platinum for a year free - but I want to upgrade a wiki that is the OLD pbwiki to the 2.0 AND add platinum. Or should I go ahead and make that one platinum, knowing that within a few weeks I'll *definitely* be able to upgrade it from pbwiki 1 to 2?
-
Inappropriate?I already did the upgrade - and then thought about how to get it upgraded to version 2, as most of my work is in the old wiki (and the name is more "out there" than the new one)
Not smart, but I hope that we'll just be able to upgrade. -
Inappropriate?I talked to Paul Singh, Director of Support, late yesterday evening and he's working hard on clarifying this for the users. I should be able to get everyone some sort of reply in a day or two.
Thanks for your patience!

Inappropriate?Me too. I just gave my free upgrade to a friend with a 1.0 wiki. We want to upgrade that one. I guess I should have checked first if this is possible? If not...what do we do?
I’m hoping for the best.

Inappropriate?Hi All -
Please sign up for the 1.0 -> 2.0 migrations by using the signup form here: http://blog.pbwiki.com/2008/03/31/tra...
For those of you that can't/won't help us beta test the migration system, don't worry - we're working on a migration wizard that we'll release to the wider PBwiki audience in a matter of weeks.
I’m excited

That page doesn't seem to allow me to migrate my wiki... At least, I couldn't find anything on that page that would. -
That post is 2 weeks old. They only took the first few requests, then closed signups while they worked out issues. -
Inappropriate?I'd definitely be willing to try it. Are there any specific things we should know about? Does the browser version make any difference? I wouldn't expect it to, but I've ceased making assumptions about things like this.
Thanks! -
Inappropriate? All the modern browsers work fine with PBwiki 2.0, but you're free to create a new wiki and try out 2.0 before upgrading your existing wiki.
-
Inappropriate?Right now, We're working out the bugs in transitioning wikis from 1.0 to 2.0. We'll be announcing when this available, probably on the blog (blog.pbwiki.com) and also as a notice on your 1.0 wiki.
Keep an eye out!

Inappropriate?hi I need this quick to impress my boss please.
i want to show them all the new features - they are talking about mediawiki and i need to stop them!
please dont forget me - im a premium user!
I’m waiting too long
-
We still aren't ready to launch the migration tool - I don't have an ETA for you, but I know it's in the final stages of testing. If you need to show your bosses what a 2.0 wiki can do, why don't you create a demo one for them? I would also recommend talking to sales@pbwiki, they have all sorts of hard numbers and resource materials for you and your company to consider. -
Inappropriate?any estimates ETA for this please? Surely you have a date penciled in?
I would have thought the migration tool for existing users would have been ready before you allowed new users to use 2.0. Almost seems like us existing users are not as important.
I’m decomposing

Inappropriate?I was set up to beta test migration from 1. to 2.0 and simply didn't notice that I had to reply to the email, and missed out! Now I'm just waiting waiting waiting... I really want 2.0 so that discussion messages are at the bottom of the page instead of in a separate link.
I’m perplexed
-
seems like with a little javascript magic, it'd be easy to get something just like discussion messages at the bottom of pages in pbwiki 1.0 -
Inappropriate?something that may be useful to some people on this thread:

yes... it's 1 page at a time, but using the accelerator keys, you can do it pretty quickly -
Inappropriate?Good news! We're just about to start beta testing our 1.0 -> 2.0 update process. You can sign up to be a beta tester here:
