Inappropriate? For K-12, useful lesson plans might be difficult because they are so specific to the text, supplementals, and tailored to state standards.
I think wikis would be great for class projects or workshops (maybe a digital storytelling workshop) and project-based learning (sometimes called "problem" based learning: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Problem-...).
-
Inappropriate? Here's an example of "problem" based learning.
I've created an example Web Quest here.

I’m happy to help.

Inappropriate?details on how to move the 'Add a tag' to the top of the page, or make it a tab, or somehow more visible or part of the side of the page ~ so kids are more likely to use it a lot
-
Inappropriate?details on pbwiki mobile...using our pbwikis to deliver stuff to phones and have people contribute via phone
-
Inappropriate?i'd love to know a way to show how incoming links to each page of my wiki ~ so people can follow these links as well

Inappropriate?Bonnie,
Thanks for the awesome suggestions. A few responses:
1) Google API - check out this thread here - http://getsatisfaction.com/pbwiki/top...
2) PBwiki 2.0 has tags in a much more prominent location. You can sign up for our beta here: http://pbwiki.com/content/pbwiki-beta
3) Mobile PBwiki is definitely a feature we are exploring, there will be blog updates about the new features we're working on - so check back there. Blog.pbwiki.com
4) Link - Can you explain this a little more - it sounds like a neat idea!

Inappropriate?Thanks!
(1) I'll check it out and play around with it
(2) Yeah, it's cool. Is there a way to migrate an existing pbwiki to the beta? I'd love to switch b3ok.pbwiki.com over to it.
(3) Great...i'll check out the blog
(4) For instance if you had a wiki page with info all about the creation of a frog storytime ~ with ideas for books, crafts, activities, etc. and then you had another wiki page with a frog fingerplay ~ it would be nice to see on the side of the frog fingerplay wiki page that it was being linked to by the frog storytime wikipage...figuring if someone is interested in one, they will probably be interested in looking at or contribbuting to the other...does that make any sense? -
Inappropriate?(2) We'll be announcing at some point that people will be able to transistion their PBwikis to version 2.0 - we don't have a datde on this yet, as we are still ironing out some kinks so that it all goes smoothly (see this thread for a good example of just one thing that needs ironing out)
(4) You could start by tagging both of those pages with "Frog" and then add something at the bottom that says "For more frog related pages, click on the "frog" tag at the bottom of the page!" Or you could even copy the frog tag link and put it in the wiki page itself (I haven't tried this, but what you might be able to do is right-click on the "frog" tag link, select "Copy Link" or "Copy Link Location" - depending on what comes up - and then use that as the link on the page).
When you move your wiki to 2.0, you'll also be able to put your frog pages in a folder labeled, perhaps "Frog" - that will show up on the side of any page inside of the frog folder, and people will be able to click on the Frog folder to see the other pages. Just don't forget to tag the frog pages too, in case you forget to put one in the folder!
I’m happy I grew up raising frogs! Ribbit!
