Inappropriate?Hey there, the link you posted is for Flickr- this is a forum for PBwiki users. Did you mean to access another site?
-
I realized about 3 seconds after posting this that Chris was linking to an image hosted on Flickr. I tried deleting the post, but I guess it didn't go through. Sorry, Chris! -
No problem -- here's the page itself that seems to be missing the OpenID option:

Inappropriate?Hi Rachel, the link he posted is to an image, so you can see what he is talking about regarding there no longer appearing to be OpenID (URL) based log in option on PBwiki.
-
Oh shoot- I realized that about 3 seconds after I posted it, and tried to delete it. Must not have gone through! -
How do you embed images like that?!? -
Chris, just use an img tag. -
The missing piece here is a note in our interface that says "you can use some HTML" -
Yeah -- if you explained what markup was allowed, that'd be seriously useful! ;) Thanks! -
Inappropriate?Hi Chris- have you set up your OpenID information on your PBwiki Account already?
-
Yep, I have. In fact, I was the one kind of pushing them to adopt it all along! ;)

Hi Chris - I'm not totally familiar with OpenID, but I believe once you add it to your PBwiki account you can go to my.pbwiki.com and sign in through there. (I don't think you can sign directly into a wiki with your OpenID) -
Mine has been set up, and the OpenID login option is missing from all of my logins as well. -

Yeah, I knew that that was there, but it's kind of a) hidden (what happens if you have images turned off?) and b) not available when logging in to particular wikis...! -
Inappropriate?Hi Cameron- you got it! The way OpenID has been set up, you log in at my.pbwiki.com and then go to your wikis. If you take a look at Joel's original blog post (http://blog.pbwiki.com/2008/04/09/tir...) it was set up to ease access to your PBwiki Account but not placed directly on wiki log in pages.
Has someone experienced it differently? Furthermore, would you like to see this support on individual log-in pages? I can definitely make this feature request if there's a need.
-
Inappropriate?I'm pretty sure the feature request is exactly what everyone wants. In fact, it seems that Chris and Guy remember OpenID being available as an option for login on each wiki, not just at my.pbwiki.com.
I’m glad to help
-
We hear you Cameron, I'll be working on adding OpenID login to every page with a login form. I'll keep you all posted! -
Inappropriate?Great! Thanks for the feedback everyone- I've submitted this as feature request #878. Our engineer working on OpenID has been out ill, but I'll try to get in touch with him and update you on this.

This is great Rachel -- it just didn't make sense to offer OpenID, which I'd like to use to signin to PBWiki, and then to not offer it on pages that require me to signin! I think this is really about managing expectations and being consistent. Thanks! -
Inappropriate?Well, pretty goofy of us to not make OpenID logins available on login screens. We'll get this fixed pronto and comment on this thread when it's done.
-
Inappropriate? The OpenID option was never included on the pages with the screen shots above. I'm now working on getting the a link on all the other login pages. I'll report back here when I'm done.

Ok cool. Thanks for the followup and keep us posted! ;) -
