Why don't Education Premium users get Doc Import Feature?
why isn't the new document import feature available to education premium users? I work daily with Word documents and have been waiting for the import feature and now I see it is only available to premium business users. Please reconsider. This is an important feature for everyone who pays for a premium service.

Inappropriate?Hi Steve,
I'm sorry. I don't have the answer to that question but I'll find out. In the mean time, feel free to use the Help link in your workspace to get a faster response to important questions.

Thanks, Cliff, I'll do that. I so seldom have questions, I forget which is the most expedient means to an answer. -
Inappropriate?I agree with you, Steve. I understand the need to limit free accounts, but why not let paying education customers have features like doc import, mobile edition access, or enhanced stats/tracking? There is currently no additional upgrade I could even buy as an education customer to get these features, which is frustrating!

Tim, you're so right. That's the frustrating part. I'm not sure why PBWorks would assume that educators would not be using Word documents and at least give us the opportunity to buy the new features. Hopefully our friends at PBW will come around. -
Inappropriate?Hey Tim and Steve,
Thanks for your feedback. Our business product does have a few very distinct differences from the product we offer to educators. As PBworks evolves, we're making tough decisions on which features would fit for our rather large and diverse userbase.
We're continuing to look at document import (it's been out two weeks) to see how folks are using it and if it would work on the edu product.
We'll update this thread when we make a decision.

Thanks, Kristine. For your information, on my wiki, every page I or my colleagues set up is copied from a Word document. I am constantly asked why it is not possible to import a Word document directly instead of cutting and pasting. Everyone here at PSU would be very thankful if PBWorks decides to let the edu users have this feature. Steve -
I agree with Steve. We at UC Davis also use PBworks in our lab and synchronization with word would be awesome.
