Team chat by default PLEASE. ESPECIALLY for the lightning games, where that delay is actually a serious problem.

It's not only the delay in switching tabs... Some people just plain DON'T switch tabs, so they miss all the orders and team chatter.

This must be remedied.

Unfortunately, tabs are a UI element that the vast majority of the internet population does not actually understand. You saw how much trouble people have when we try to get them to sign up. They already look at the page and go, "what do I do? Where is that" WTF?"

Personally, my ideal layout is somewhere along these lines:

announcements across top (as they are currently)
bp and polls across whole width beneath that
map and chat side by side

It's hard to chat strategy when you have to keep scrolling in the browser to look at the map!
