A comment on the problem "Public RSS feeds are broken" in Pownce:
To be precise feeds are partly working:
1) Atom feeds are "secretly" available at http://pownce.com/feeds/all/[something].atom : you can find this if you look for the RSS icon in Firefox's URL textbox
2) the content of the articles is wrong: e.g. the link back to Pownce looks like http://pownce.com/api/notes/from/[username]/[post no.]/ instead of http://pownce.com/[username]/notes/[post no.]/ – giacecco, on July 16, 2008 05:36

Can you see if I got flagged as spam? Username 'hawaii'. Posting photos via e-mail from my iPhone (via Gmail) worked fine until today. Now all posts reliably generate a response from my secret@bkite.com address that says: "We cannot process your request at this time. Please try again later, or visit brightkite.com"

Kee, somehow your posts were getting caught in our spam filter. You should be good to go now. Sorry about that. – Lesley, on June 26, 2008 22:43

It is definitely not user error. I'm emailing using the same address book entry. Mail from nazgul@somewhere.com on my Mac sends a picture to Brightkite. Mail from nazgul@somewhere.com on my iPhone (same server, same mail settings) never shows up--ever.
Furthermore, I'm using the same mail server. Here are the two entries:
This one, from my Mac, got through.
16:16:43.08 2 SMTP-94796(bkite.com) [3214534] sent to [64.233.167.27], got:250 2.0.0 OK 1214515186 f57si1307463pyh.38
16:16:43.08 2 DEQUEUER [3214534] SMTP(@66.221.67.247:bkite.com)XXXX@bkite.com relayed
This one, from my iPhone, did not.
16:28:12.08 2 SMTP-94802(bkite.com) [3214551] sent to [64.233.167.114], got:250 2.0.0 OK 1214515875 n45si259498pyh.29
16:28:12.08 2 DEQUEUER [3214551] SMTP(@66.221.67.247:bkite.com)XXXXX@bkite.com relayed
So apparently your server either doesn't like the attachment from the iPhone, or it has a problem with mail originating on AT&T wireless networks.

Make sure that you are using the right email address to send to. If they still don't show up, verify that they actually got sent (mobile phones sometimes take a while to send).
If they still don't show up, they probably landed in our spam filter. We are working on a way to make the spam filter more accurate.
