I'm in the same boat as PixEye. Maybe I'm compulsive, but I hate seeing I have a request/call-to-action and I can't do anything about it. ugh.

It should be trivial to run a script against your database to at least fix the situation temporarily while you go looking for the bug (and how hard can that be?)

Oh no! I've fixed this now and I agree that it went too long unfixed. It's scary to think that people might have unfriended you or not be able to access parts of the site. I'm very sorry this happened and I'm sorry that it took so long to fix.
