Very good feedback. You're right -- since "Start a topic" is up there right next to where you search for other companies I can see how one might think that if they type in a company name and click the "Start a topic" button they'd be starting a topic about that company. Hmmm..... Definitely something for us to take a look at!

Hmmmm.... That's an odd one. I just did it successfully. Let's see if my scenario mirrored yours....
From the page we're currently on, I typed "Verizon" in the Find a "Company" field at the top of the page. Verizon showed up in the results, I clicked on it and was taken to the Verizon Get Satisfaction page.
I'm on FF on a Mac. But I haven't heard of it not working on XP. Are there any details in your steps that I missed?
Eric Suesz replied on September 22, 2008 17:41 to the problem "New product can't be added to a topic" in Get Satisfaction:
You are correct. If a product doesn't already exist, it's not possible to add a product while creating a new topic. It used to be possible. We changed this after a lot of experimentation because we'd seen a lot of products that aren't actually products (a lot). I'd say we're still experimenting with this and haven't gotten it right yet -- from the topic creation page.
However, you can still create products from each company's Products page by clicking on the 'Add a product or service" button.

Not clear how to add a new topic after adding oneI'm not clear if "start a topic" refers to the company whose page I'm on since it's next to the "find a company". Does that button refer to the company I've found with the search widget?
I'm asking since I noticed after I add an issue it's not clear how to add another one. I keep clicking the Topics tab again to get back to the page to add one.
No need to respond, just feedback.

Going to a new company from a company's page doesn't workMaybe I still don't get the UI but here is what I was trying to do:
I was on a company's support page.
Then in the blue bar next to "Find a Company" I entered Get Satisfaction and clicked on your name.
I remained on the company's page I was on.
I expected to be taking to the GS support page.
Using FF on XP.

New product can't be added to a topicI'm only allowed to add an existing product.
If there isn't a new product I am not able to add one (the + doesn't work).
trufula asked a question in Naymz on September 22, 2008 14:14:
What is the Naymz privacy policy? The privacy policy is pretty long. Because the service entails sensitive information it would help to have a bulleted summary of how you use and protect my information. What would be really helpful too is if you included high points from your partner's privacy policies as well.
Thanks.

I appreciate your usabilityIn the "oddest comments you've received department," I wanted to applaud GS for your usability in terms of dark text and text that contrasts well against the backgrounds. I am soooooo flumoxed by how many websites - including Microsoft and Yahoo - that have disregarded usability in favor of artsy looking designs that I thought I should tell you one person appreciates your choosing usability over "elegance." And by doing that, you are elegant!-
