Hi Crystal, not sure if this is the same problem- but i have the Twitter HTML badge on my website and i want it to show all @replies directed to me, not my feed-but everytime someone comes to the site they get the pop-up box. Is there a way to include all @replies to me as part of my html badge without having people needing to login? Thanks – rpber, on September 27, 2008 20:16

As that's solved the problem for me but not others, it may be that Twitter is clashing with more than one specific add-on. It might be worth disabling any add-ons you do have one by one - which is what I did - and see if any of them is causing the problem. It might be something altogether different in your case, but I can't see the harm in trying. – bewtifulfreak, on September 25, 2008 06:12

Also, Fwiw, there's a reply below in this thread (click here to see), where someone who uses Vista and Firefox says this problem stopped for them when they removed the Veoh Browser Plug-in 1.3 add-on from their browser. – mdy, on September 25, 2008 03:15

Hi pw8577. Have you noticed if this happens when you visit a site or blog that has a Twitter badge (not your own) displayed?
Or does it happen with every website (say, when your browser only has one tab open at http://google.com as an example)? – mdy, on September 25, 2008 03:12

User name adriennerc, browser firefox 2.0, OS Vista. I have deleted my twitter account and continue to get API popup. It is relentless. Is this a punishment for leaving? – pw8577, on September 25, 2008 02:51-

Thanks. I was getting so frustrated and I don't use veoh app anyways. You won the internet. Congrats. – kalyke, on August 29, 2008 22:23

I get this problem on my laptop (Vista), but not on the desktop (XP). Not sure, but I think I have all the same Firefox add-ons on both 'puters. I don't, however, get this prompt on any page but the Twitter home page. I also don't use any third-party Twitter-specific apps.
Don't know if this is of any significance, but I always have to click 'cancel' or 'x' twice to get rid of it. And it doesn't happen if I'm on another tab when Twitter loads, for whatever that's worth.
...
Checked to see which FF add-ons I might have on here that weren't on the desktop: did a bit of trial and error disabling of add-ons, ended up disabling the Veoh Browser Plug-in 1.3 add-on (which I didn't need anyway), and lo and behold, problem solved! So looks like it's definitely an add-on problem, at least in some cases, anyway.-

I just got a similar message -- slightly different wording. I am not logged into Twitter, haven't been for 18 hrs, cold started this morning. Firefox 2.0.0.16. I don't have twitfox or any other twitter-inspired/related third-party APIs or add-ons or the like. Adblock, delicious, filterset g, orbit, tab mix plus, and the shuffling corpses in the apartment next to me are tragically blasting out some goddamned Enya album out right now in a misguided attempt to seem remotely human.
