Thanks for the feedback EJ. It actually sparked quite the conversation over here at method and I think we've figured out the issues.
Smarty dish is designed to work in almost every possible environment. There are a couple of things we like to do here to give it a boost like: scraping the dishes beforehand or cleaning the filter at the bottom of the machine to get any stuck food out.
Also, stinky food items have fragrant oils and the ingredients in SD are designed to battle them, as long as the wash isn't stone cold. Here at method we give the cubes a boost by washing our dishes in warm water.
So I hope this helps your cleaning experience. If not, give us a shout at info@methodhome.com and we can get to the nitty gritty of your issue.

Hey Jamie, handle breakage issues have occurred in about 3-5% of the omops, and the good news is that we are on top of the problem! our tools pod team has pinpointed the issue and is working to ensure sturdier handles.
if this not-so-pleasant twist of fate has knocked on your door and you find yourself standing with a broken handle, simply shoot us an email at info@methodhome.com, and we'll get you all taken care of. (please be ready to show proof of purchase, such as a digital photo of the broken mop, receipt, or the handle itself.)

Congratulations Amy! Three weeks? That's right around the corner. I'm so excited for you.
You're right you are safe to use the free and clear on your little one's clothes. Because it doesn't contain fragrances, dyes, or harmful ingredients, it's a more gentle option for sensitive skin.
Thanks for choosing us, and congratulations again.-

felicia, an employee of method, replied on November 19, 2007 20:00 to the question "Does Method make anything comparable to Febreze?" in method:
Great question! Yes we do have a product similar to Febreeze's odor eliminating air enhancer. It's our aroma spray and also eliminates odors in the air on contact. It can be found at a bunch of different retailers. Check out our website and store locator for more information:
http://www.methodhome.com/support/sto...
Right now we don't have a product designed to remove odors from fabrics and we don't recommend using the aroma spray in that fashion. We're definitely interested, but until we know we can make it in a way that's safe for you and the environment, we have to put it on the backburner. It's a great idea, though. Thanks for the suggestion.-

Well if you're in San Francisco, you're in luck. There is a household waste pick-up sysytem that will collect those harmful, no good, very bad products from your home and take them away. Leaving you with tons more room for your favorite non-toxic cleaners. Check out this site for more information:
http://www.sunsetscavenger.com/sfhhw/...
Outside of San Francisco, please with your local waste disposal service. You should be able to find more information in your local yellow pages or on the internet. There's an awesome direcory of information (usually in the front) in the yellow pages, including contact numbers for the people who take your trash.

First off, I'm so sorry to hear about your and your wife's experiences with our aroma pill. If you'd like to talk to anyone here offline, please email me or call me at 1-866-9METHOD x 304. we'd love to hear from you.
We've received a couple of sugesstions like yours becuase some people would prefer having more fragrance, and others would prefer to have less. The aircare team is always considering new ideas, so I'll definitely pass this along.
If you're still interested in our aircare, but want to adjust your level of fragrance, may I suggest our aroma sticks? You can adjust the level of fragrance by putting in as many or as few of the reeds as you like. Check them out here: http://www.methodhome.com/products.ph...-

So this topic has stirred a bit of conversation around here because for a lot of people like yourself, Amy, sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS) can be drying and irritating. Plus, there's the whole fear-mongering tactic some companies use, "SLS is carcinogenic! SLS will kill you!!!!1!1 etc." The SLS that we use is derived from coconut oil and is a safe, effective lathering agent that gives you fun, clean bubbles to play with...
oooh bubbles :)
...But I digress. Overall, when looking at a formulation ingredient, we take into account the entire life cycle of that ingredient – source, use, disposal – with the goal of leaving the smallest eco-footprint possible (this includes our fragrances and dyes, as well). In fact, we have a whole team of formulators, engineers and scientists that ensure we are living up to the “greenest” philosophy possible – we call them “Greenskeepers.” They do the following:
-assess all of the ingredients that go into our formulations to
guarantee they are good for the environment, healthy for people and pets, and are sourced responsibly
-ensure method’s final products are biodegradable, non-toxic, and safe for river and marine life
-conduct external testing based on international standards for the biodegradability and non-toxicity of our products
-constantly seek ways to make products with no compromises in environmental performance or efficacy
If they cannot find a way to make a product work well and be healthy, we won’t make it. Period.
Right now we don't have plans to remove SLS from our products, mainly because 1.) there is no substantial evidence that shows SLS/SLES to be a danger either from a health or environmental standpoint 2.) it's high on the efficacy ladder.
