A comment on the problem "Post URLs are messed up" in Six Apart:
Yep, that would seem to make sense. Glad you guys are on top of it! – scotth, on February 25, 2009 02:22

Post URLs are messed upWe use Typepad and some of our posts have really long, bizarre URLs. Seems like a bug, but we're not sure. Can someone please take a look? Here's an example post:
http://blog.tripit.com/2009/01/recent...
Isn't the URL supposed to automatically include the first 15 characters of the post? That's usually what happens, but as you can see in the above example, sometimes it comes out much longer.
scotth shared an idea in Atlantic Dominion Solutions on January 26, 2009 18:49:
Enhancements to the TripIt integration1. On the dropdown that lists my trips, they don’t seem to appear in any sort of order. I think it would help a lot if you could put them in chronological order so I can easily find the relevant trip.
2. When I select an item from one of my trips, I would expect Expens’d to pull some of the details from the TripIt trip item and populate them into the form. For example, if I have a flight entitled “Flight SFO to ORD” I would want Expens’d to put that in the expense “name” field, along with populating the date of that item. You might even put some of the details from the TripIt item into the notes field – e.g., “AA 462 from SFO to ORD” or in the case of a hotel, something like “Westin Peachtree Plaza, 457 Peachtree St., Atlanta, GA; arrive 4/10/09, 3 nights, deluxe room.”

agree, seems like something simple Twitter can do and would have a lot of value for users – scotth, on December 12, 2008 16:31-

Chris, I just posted an icon here:

I hope this is the right spec -- let me know if it doesn't look right and we can try to fix it. Thanks!

Hi, Chris. We do have an iPhone icon and it should be working. Shortly after we launched m.tripit.com a while back, we discovered that some people had a hard time getting the icon to load because our image was large filesize.
But we've since made it much smaller and it should load right away when you add us to your main screen now. I'm guessing/hoping you loaded our icon a while ago and are just now reporting this problem, but if you try it again, it should now work. If you still can't get it to work now, please let us know.
scotth replied on June 09, 2008 16:54 to the idea "Please add support for multi-day "conference" events" in TripIt:
Hi, Chris -- thanks for all the ideas lately! Multi-day events is one of our most common user requests these days, so it's something we are taking a look at right now. Definitely agree that conferences are especially hard to organize and that's a great opportunity for TripIt to be of assistance. Stay tuned!

Lane, thanks for the feedback and sorry for taking so long to respond! I just got your newsletter and that's what prompted me to check the site and see this comment you posted (don't think we received a notification of it?).
Anyway, totally hear you and agree that outputting the itin content by email is a solid idea. It's not that we don't want to do it, but rather this is one of those things we just haven't gotten around to yet. Our dev list is really long and we're working on the highest priority items first, but this one hasn't made the cut just yet... it's getting close, though!
In the meantime, while it's not an elegant solution to the problem, I do want to offer something that might help. Our TripIt To Me feature allows you to request your itinerary content by email. So if you send an email to plans@tripit.com with this text in the subject or body -- get trip [date] -- then we'll respond with a text based version of your itin, by email. Date should be something like 3/15/08 (or if your account prefs are set to European format then use 15/3/08) and should match the date range of one of the trips in your account.
You'll now have your itin information in an email that you can take with you on your mobile device. You can also forward that email to friends so they can see your plans without having to log into TripIt. Hope that helps!

scotth replied on October 03, 2007 17:14 to the question "How do I edit or delete some replies?" in Get Satisfaction:
I understand why you guys don't allow folks to delete responses after 15 minutes, but I'm presented with a challenge by that. For example, in the TripIt forum we have a topic about merging accounts. When that topic first came up, we didn't have a good way for our users to merge accounts, so I presented a big manual workaround (I think it requires 8 steps and it's a messy process). But last night we released a real "account merge" feature and that manual workaround I described is no longer relevant. I posted the new account merge feature in the thread just now, but that old manual workaround is stuck in there.
So my concern is that any TripIt user searching for account merge on Satisfaction is going to read the matching thread from top to bottom. They may read the nasty manual workaround and get turned off and walk away before they continue reading that we now have a real account merge feature. So I want to get rid of that old content that is now out of date so it doesn't get in the way of users finding accurate, timely answers to their issues. How can I do that?

Good news! We just launched an official "account merge" feature to TripIt. You no longer have to go through the manual workaround described in this note.
Just log into your TripIt account, click "My Account" and you'll see the account merge feature in the "email accounts" section of the page.
Enjoy! (And thanks for your patience...)
