A more long term fix may be a software upgrade. Typically, how your device runs is dependent on the data in the databases in addition to the OS.
I have gotten that with my Curve 8320 where the software lags a little when selecting applications. I synchronized all my information and did a handheld wipe (Options>Security Options>General Settings>Menu key>Wipe Handheld) on the device, then you can synchronize back.-

Can you even get internet access with AT&T prepaid? Prepaid accounts a generally basic accounts for making and receiving calls and sending and receiving text messages. The iPhone is designed for use with a post paid account with it's iPhone data plan, from my understanding.
Attempting to write a review for the iPhone while using it on a prepaid plan would only prove to be a poor interview.

souris replied on September 22, 2008 03:20 to the problem "What can I do about my horrible DSL service?" in AT&T:
I'm so glad that it's not just us! Today is the seventh day in the last week-and-a-half that our AT&T DSL has just plain died randomly, for no apparent reason, only to give me an error message that does nothing to help, because it doesn't even apply to the situation. And, yeah, when it goes, it's gone for several hours at a time. We've had this service at my house for just under two years, and though it would occasionally bork, it's never been this bad. Even the neighbourhood unsecured wi-fi network that I mooch off of when this happens seems to be affected, though not nearly as badly as at my house (I'm using it right now to write this, since ours has been dead since last night). Like a lot of people, most of my life happens only when I've got a connection, and everything around me grinds darn near to a stand-still when I don't. This whole thing makes me want to drive down there and rip their balls off. Though, I haven't bothered calling them up to scream at them, yet — I'm just not in a position at the moment where I have the patience and energy to rip a new one in somebody who's barely got two brain cells to rub together. I just keep hanging in there, hoping it'll work itself out without my interference, since I have way too many other things on my mind right now.

Same problem, and after following Chris's advice and carefully visualizing the upper and lower mechanisms I realized the release button was stuck (in retracted position) and so the lower latches were also stuck and not visible within the slots, toward the center ends of the slots. A DROP of silicone lube on the release button itself and the lower latches, and some wiggling with safety pin (on the latches) and finger tip (on the button), and it freed up. Unfortunately, it seems your best course of action is to email them, be persistent but polite, provide as much information about your account and situation as possible and then wait. Good luck! – Amy Muller, on September 02, 2008 19:34

FB is only catching the Small fish.
As usual the big one (professional spammers, abusers, etc) get away
Spammers usually have multiple profiles and are usually invisible. FB and
other network get better at reducing Spam, but will never be able to eliminate it.
Unfortunately, the real criminals and spammers are
- always one step ahead of the game, and
- usually get away
Most people who have replied to this thread probably are not the people
who deliberately want to cuase any damage to FB or to harass other users.
If a user has spent lots of time building up their Profiles, there is no point
in FB pulling it down permanently. It is much better to give warnings/penalise the person involved. These people shouls not be classed as Spammers/Criminals
FB must get a clear Policy on this area and fast

I think as many people as possible should write to the attorney general :) They must listen considering the number of people affected ! – A strong clear vision, on September 01, 2008 20:17

Hi guys
I was sent a virus on Monday, not my fault and it was from a friend that I trusted. It was then sent to all my friends and from what I hear it has been doing the rounds.
They have dissabled my account and I can't get any sort of response from anyone.
I can live without facebook but it's like having your bag stolen. Everything in it is replacable but it's a mision. There are photos I am tagged in by people I don't know that I want to keep and trying to find them all again will be impossible
It's the complete lack of any sort of response from facebook that's driving me mad. I didn't do anything wrong.
They want to make a website with no spammers and real people, that's great. They want us to share our lives and all our every day stuff on their site, fine. They need to provide a resonse from a real person now I have a problem :(((
If anyone knows how on earth you get your account enabled again HELP ! !

Deadbeat is kind of a harsh term... but the essence of the article is true. Here is a list of current options that people have if they want a prepaid iPhone. There aren't that many options-- basically you can hack it, move, or get somethign else.
But I think it's coming soon-- there are rumors of this already, and it just makes good business sense. Here's a list of reasons why it a prepaid iPhone makes sense for Apple and AT&T.
