Hash-tags with hyphen are brokenRecently, Twitter started linking hash-tags with a search query that becomes useful in Twitter-search, for finding groups of people interested in the same topic.
Unfortunately, the technical implementation of this function is broken. Hash-tags break the link in the middle, if they have a hyphen in them. Examples are:
#home-schooling
#ad-link
#brand-streams
#people-i-admire
To fix this as a user, you would be forced to write two words as one, which is grammatically incorrect and could be semantically misleading. You haven no other option but using two words, each with an individual hash-tag. And this is where functionality breaks.
Technically, it would be quite easy to fix. Just include a few more signs in the hash-tag function, including the hyphen, which is a natural part of English language. This seems to be a minor issue, but in terms of user experience, it's a rock blocking the way of a function that should be intuitive and seamless to use.
A comment on the problem "Font size increases unintendedly, other typographic issues" in Evernote:
The problem is, Evernote as a server platform works, but the clients have all been programmed differently. They are following different principles and UX patterns.
If Evernote was unifying all font-handling, they should make it *relative font sizes* (em units). It should stay away from points versus vague definitions like "medium" or "large".
One way to do this would be using CSS definitions across the board, in all clients, on all systems. This way the font size relative to the system's settings is applied, so it will look consistenly throughout each system. This won't make it look the same on *all* systems, but it will get rid of the reformatting misery we are all experiencing. – core, on June 17, 2009 07:58-
core started following the question "Longer Real Name" in Twitter.
core reported a problem in Twitter on May 10, 2009 12:30:
Names are cut offIf your name is longer than 20 characters, you are out of luck. Twitter will cut off your name. My real name is not overly long; I've seen longer ones, so I assume there must be a lot of people with cut off names in Twitter.

core reported a problem in Spectacular Apps on April 25, 2009 10:29:
Xtorrent crashes/freezes as soon it startedAs soon you start the application, after about one, two seconds, the application freezes completely and shows the spinning ball indefinitely. It's obviously a bug that started in the last couple of days, as I've been using Xtorrent successfully for previous sessions.
It used to crash occasionally or freeze on me, but never before like this. It's behavior now renders it completely unusable. A shame if you consider I paid for functioning software.

Postbox 11 crashes every single time right after it sent off an email.Postbox 11, running on Mac OS 10.5.6 crashes the moment after it sent an email. It happens so quickly, only restarting the application and looking into the sent-folder confirms that the email has actually been sent.
I sent two crash-logs to Postbox developers to report the problem.
core replied on February 13, 2009 18:21 to the problem "Let me edit the outgoing server manually" in Postbox, Inc.:
It solved the issue, thank you all.
The reason why I didn't find this feature for the longest time was simply because it is not put in context of what you are doing. If you are creating or editing an account, why should the outgoing server be at an entirely different place? That doesn't make sense and it doesn't fit with the flow you're in when editing an account. Especially when you can edit the incoming server at one spot, you wouldn't expect the outgoing server have a particular pane for itself, completely out of context of each individual account...
I think here is room for improvement on the usability side.

Let me edit the outgoing server manuallyOutgoing server is predefined and can not be edited manually. Postbox provides a choice among the default fields (Gmail, Yahoo Plus and MobileMe in my case), but it doesn't let me enter the name of the server manually. I tried to create new accounts using both, IMAP and POP, but in both cases I was not able to enter an outgoing server.
We are a company with over 250 employees, and all our email is running on Gmail, over a custom domain. It is crucial for us to select a different outgoing server than smtp.gmail.com, because with this domain, it will not work with our own domain (the server rejects SMTP domains different than the one of our company).
core shared an idea in Postbox, Inc. on February 12, 2009 08:54:
Allow changing the line-height in composition modeSince Postbox allows email composing using HTML, and it lets one choose the font size, it would be great if it also allows editing the line-height (distance between lines of text). The value could be set in em units (relative line-height) using standard CSS 2.

I downloaded and installed the Skype 2.8 Beta, but it didn't solve the problem. Adding sounds as a replacement for standard sounds still crashes the application. I made a quick screencast demonstrating the issue:

How do I report an abusive profile?More and more profiles are created on Twitter, often they are nothing else but a jumpboard for marketing, to seduce people to click on links. I was recently added to someone's profile, which was in fact just a sex webcam site.
