A comment on the problem "Hootsuite 2 columns are not visible with Firefox nightly builds (Minefield)." in HootSuite:
Thanks for the reply! I figured it out: I was testing Firefox's HTML5 parser (about:config, html5.enable=true), which caused the problem. I flipped back to the normal parser, and Hootsuite v2 works fine. I've reported the problem to Mozilla. – dietrich, on August 04, 2009 02:06

This is fixed in the latest source: https://ubiquity.mozilla.com/hg/ubiqu...
Cers was able to reproduce, and therefore test and verify the change.
Sorry, I owe you all a beer.

dietrich asked a question in I want Sandy on March 05, 2008 19:08:
how can i view all recent activity?how can i see a list of recent activity (appointments, todos, remembers, everything)?
the homepage (daily digest) used to do that, iirc, but now only has appointments.
"your stuff" is alphabetized, so not useful.
dietrich replied on January 10, 2008 00:18 to the problem "sandy should not strip out unrecognized words and characters" in I want Sandy:
Hi, thanks for the quick reply! Yes, the data is all there in the "more context" area, whew! I rarely, if ever, click through to an item's details other than to "forget" it, so I had completely forgotten about that option.
Here are some thoughts about this problem:
1. If the data being removed from the summary is only a few characters, words and has no line breaks, it was probably intended to be there.
2. "More context" requires 2 clicks to get to. It'd be so much easier if it was shown by default when viewing an item's details. (I'm one of those folks who sorely misses the "view details and edit in place" mode the beta had)
3. Using quotes via phone can be painfully slow. On many phones it requires many more keypresses, and possibly even going to a special characters view.
So, to reduce my request to a single sentence: If the message is short (eg: sms length), then show the whole message in the "summary".
About the contact issue, here's the message, with only the personal data changed:
remember joe address is 1234 1234th Ave W, Seattle, WA 99999 @address
dietrich reported a problem in I want Sandy on January 09, 2008 22:32:
sandy should not strip out unrecognized words and charactersSandy should be very liberal in what she accepts, and very careful about what she throws away.
For example, I sent "remember to download !!! @music"
And received:
direct from s: #27 I got: Download @music
Another very problematic example is an address i sent via phone, which Sandy remembered as " [No name] @address". No recovery from that one!
I don't see why she would drop anything between a command and the next recognized token:
"remember {anything here should be kept} @mytagname"
Generally, it'd probably be best to err on the safe side and keep more than necessary. Users can edit down, but it's way harder to remember what's missing :P
