Feature for Tax TimeNot sure if this is implemented yet... anyways I just thought of how RescueTime would help out a lot for taxes. It's not easy to record computers as assets since the IRS wants specific records of use for computers as related to your business.
Well with Rescue Time this is much easier, since it tracks everything and you can categorize stuff.
Would be nice to have a specific UI feature on the dashboard for this though; something you can print for the IRS (yearly summary with details).

Theoritically the new models are less prone to breaking. They redesigned the motherboard, cooling, and even the main chip itself to take care of the heat issue. As a nice side effect, it's also quieter and it doesn't sound like a vacuum cleaner like the older generation.
Unfortunately getting one right now is like russian roulette. You need to be able to see the lot number (i forgot the right value) and the manufacturing date; both of which MS now tries to cover up with a new sticker. This means if you really want one you probably shouldn't order online (which kinda sucks since that means you'll have to pay sales tax).
o yeah - there are other problems depending on your setup too. Optical audio has a good chance of not working (sigh - lots of static), though HDMI is awesome.
With MS no matter how cool their products seem, quality is always an issue...

You make a really good point on the hard drive... I also think MS made a mistake in downgrading the 360 from the 1st Xbox. I see graphical issues in games all the time because of it... not to mention loading times that just shouldn't be there...
However (while price is no longer an issue) you're also ignoring the PS3's main problem: it's very very hard (and expensive) to make games for it. Add 3rd place in terms of PS3 units in the field and what it means is that PS3 will never really have a lot of good games for it. Yes, there will be Gran Turismo, but for every Gran Turismo there will be a Halo, Bioshock, Mass Effect, Forza (the list goes on)...
Moreover equivalent Xbox 360 cross platform games (even with the hard drive weakness) will still be the better version. Why? MS knows how to make good software tools; Sony doesn't (and it doesn't help when the Cell architecture is the hardest to develop for), and it no longer has the advantage of the biggest install base.... look at Madden 08 as an example

"Let me start by saying that I'm in no way a MS fanboy... 4.It's only a game system, you will survive the week it's in the repair center, I promise."
I'm sorry but you do sound like a MS Fanboy. It takes 4-6 weeks to get your Xbox 360 back for repairs; not 1 week. Not to mention it will occur multiple times...
I'm not so sure my $450 Xbox 360 Elite investment was a smart one... then again PS3's software library will most likely never be good (too hard to develop for) and the Wii's current library is more for kids and casual gamers (yes, I own one too) (I probably should have got the cheaper 360 20GB version - most games don't use the hard drive at all except for game saves - which is really stupid)
chaostheory asked a question in Delicious on December 18, 2007 08:11:
is delicious ever going to allow people to save cached copies of websites they bookmarked? When I bookmark a page I want to make sure that the content remains saved (someplace) regardless of whether or not the real webpage disappears for whatever reason. This has happened to me a lot using delicious and it's the only reason I use Yahoo bookmarks. (Yahoo owns your company - can't you borrow some of their guys?)-

Don't get a Grid AccountMT Grid accounts sounded too good to be true when Tech Crunch covered it. It was cheap, high performance, redundant hosting.
Unfortunately, when something sounds too good to be true it typically is. MT Grid accounts aren't worth the money unless you're looking for an easy painless way of getting your Rails web app up and running fast (for a demo). MT's Grid hosting's performance really sucks (even if you max the specs) and it's just not reliable (Grid went down when I was supposed to demo my web app...)
MT's 24/7 phone support (that was quick and useful) and a really awesome admin ui that doesn't exist anywhere else - kind of justifies the $20 hosting plan. I don't recommend upgrading it though. Either go to a different host or use MT's different plans (DV or DVP).
chaostheory reported a problem in Opera on December 06, 2007 16:02:
Why do you list the Palm 700wx as compatible with Opera Mini, when it is not compatible?According to your website: http://www.operamini.com/download/wap...
The Palm 700 wx is compatible with Opera Mini. Given that Windows Mobile doesn't have a version of Java ME, you should either post more detailed instructions or remove the Palm 700wx from your compatibility list.
