elliottcable replied on September 16, 2009 00:12 to the problem "I can't access my full archive" in Twitter:
There is no way, Twitter locks it up after that point.
On the off chance that twitter *never* opens it up, or that they’re lying and not actually storing my old tweets, I’ve begun using http://tweetsaver.com to archive *all* of my tweets. Unfortunately, all the ones made more than 160 pages before the first time I started using TweetSaver might be permanently lost, I don’t know—but I now have a complete set of at least my last 6,000 tweets, for sure.
A comment on the idea "Power Structure Ultimately Fails" in Spymaster:
I'm level 22 or something, and I've got several thousand attack. It should be capped, but capped on a logarithmic scale.
i.e. the caps should become less and less restrictive as you gain level: a level 1 with 100 followers should be a pretty even match with a level 1 with 10,000 followers. However, a level 30 with 100 followers should be lightyears out of the league of a level 30 with 10,000 followers. – elliottcable, on June 10, 2009 22:58
A comment on the problem "Unable to preform any tasks" in Spymaster:
A second or two is a long time on the internet. Waiting a second or two for a page to load? Dubious, at best. Okay if it's just somebody's little blog. Not okay if it's a popular and modern web application.
But multiple *full seconds* (realize, we're not measuring in ms here, but full seconds!) for a XHR/AJAX action to be preformed?
If I recall correctly, in this particular case, it's a full few seconds before the page even begins to reload (and instead of being XHR-powered to prevent that like many other parts of the app, the page actually *does* reload). – elliottcable, on June 10, 2009 22:56

Hey, don't thank me. It's my fault they decided to switch to flash *headdesk* – elliottcable, on June 09, 2009 20:56

Uh, that's the point. It's supposed to be more like real life: Be careful what you pay for, and invest in the more efficient ones first. – elliottcable, on June 08, 2009 23:18
A comment on the problem "Unable to preform any tasks" in Spymaster:
@Andrew, that doesn't allow me to preform tasks, heh. On OS X side, I run ClickToFlash in Safari 4, and have Spymaster whitelisted. But I literally cannot install Flash on my Arch side (well, I can, but it's a beta, and I really CBF - most of what I'd install it to use, specifically Grooveshark, would be useless anyway - no OSSv4 support for my laptop, Macbook Air) – elliottcable, on June 08, 2009 06:55

Ken makes a very good point. I'd assumed something was broken; as I'm running on x86_64 Arch Linux in FireFox and haven't bothered to attempt an install of the very-beta 64bit Flash Player, and don't have Flash installed. – elliottcable, on June 06, 2009 00:45

They do, in fact, have relation. I wasn't banned, they simply re-worked their architecture to require Flash. I'm betting the other posters in this thread, like me, don't have Flash installed for various reasons. – elliottcable, on June 06, 2009 00:44
A comment on the problem "Unable to preform any tasks" in Spymaster:
This is due to your cache. Force-refresh the page; that configuration is no longer relevant (They switched to a Flash architecture for preforming tasks; you've cached content that is still attempting to load tasks.js, I believe) – elliottcable, on June 06, 2009 00:41

Yeah, they re-wrote the interface to utilize Flash to attempt to block out scripts like mine above. Unfortunately, that screws over those of you without Flash. – elliottcable, on June 06, 2009 00:40

Hrm? You callin' me a Ruby noob, fool? I may just have to take you down ... what's your Twitter/Spymaster name, eh? d-; – elliottcable, on June 06, 2009 00:39
A comment on the problem "Unable to preform any tasks" in Spymaster:
Hah, yep. I @replied one of the devs with the script. I am pretty much done with Spymaster; I just thought it'd be nice of me to show them the psuedo-vulnerability I was exploiting when I left.
I didn't expect anybody to be so stupid as to solve the problem with Flash, though. I'm really wishing I hadn't shown them the script, now they've screwed over honest users who, like myself (not to claim I'm an honest user, more an honest (ab)user!), are unable or unwilling to use Flash Player. – elliottcable, on June 06, 2009 00:38
elliottcable reported a problem in Spymaster on June 05, 2009 06:52:
Unable to preform any tasksI can't preform any tasks. I simply get redirected to the top of the page (the link leads to "#," the empty anchor.) I have JavaScript enabled, so that's not the problem.
Please fix this quick! Energy's a-wastin'!
(I'm in a FireFox nightly, 'Gran Paradisio', as of the night before this post, and on Arch Linux)-
