I've given up on this (and Sandy as a whole), Bren.
For whatever reason, the Sandy team seems more concerned with adding superficial features than making the ones they already have work properly. I'm pretty sure that soon, I'll be able to contact Sandy via smokesignal.... but basic lookup commands still won't work.

So you mean I'm NOT insane!! Great! The only downside is that means that this really is a very significant problem with Sandy. Can we please have a little help over here?!? – Forge42, on April 14, 2008 12:33

Nope, not an aquisition. In short, Stikkit has been "abandonded in place". It is maintained but will not be developed further (at least, that is my understanding). Check this thread here for the official word:

Forge42 replied on February 02, 2008 15:44 to the question "Lookup context" in I want Sandy:
Ok, here's what I've done. First, I create a test message by sending the following to sandy in the body of an email (no subject):
<sent>
remember Wisdom From Rael @sandy
Q: Is it possible to get the full context of an item via lookup? For instance, say I sent sandy an email with a big block of text that I want her to remember. Then, I ask sandy to lookup something that returns that message. However, all that is really visible is the title of the item and perhaps any day/time associated with it. How can I get sandy to send me the big block of text via lookup or some other email interface? My ideal solution would be for lookup to continue to function as it does, but, if you reply to a "regular" lookup with something like "lookup #2", you get the full context of item #2 from that particular lookup query.
A: When you do a look up #1, scroll down to the bottom of the reply from Sandy and you should see the full context of the original message quoted in its entirety.
</sent>
Then, I do a lookup with the following command
>lookup rael
I received the following response from sandy:
<response>
Buenos dias, Forge!
Here's what I found matching "rael":
#1 Wisdom From Rael
- tagged with @sandy
- context: remember Wisdom From Rael @sandy
- http://iwantsandy.com/779920
Ready to help,
Sandy

Tip: To have me forget the 1st item, reply with: forget #1

To this response, I reply with:

In response to this, Sandy sends (this is the full text, copy-pasted from my gmail):
<response>
Hey, Forge!
Here's what I found:
#1 Wisdom From Rael
- tagged with @sandy
- context: remember Wisdom From Rael @sandy
- http://iwantsandy.com/779920
Grok on,
Sandy

Tip: To change the 3rd item's date or time, reply with: update #3 5/14/08

The link given in the response is a live link that takes me to the item on sandy's website. I would like to be able to see the full text (ie - the Q and A text) w/in my email for improved mobile interface. From what you're saying, you think this is doable. However, from the experiment above, it doesn't seem to be working.</sent>

Nice testing Lista!
The only comment that I would add is that the only people Values of N can blame for us wanting full text searching is themselves! Stikkit had that ability and it was simply stunning. I certainly hope they get that up and running in Sandy sooner rather than later. I would assume the primary hurdle is processing power and processing time.
Forge42 replied on December 29, 2007 02:30 to the discussion "New! Power move: Have Sandy remember an entire email message" in I want Sandy:
Thanks Theory. It seems to be working now.
However, not all is as I expected. From Rael's original post, I expected the entire text of the message to be "searchable". That's doesn't seem to be the case (at least not immediately after an item is added). Words that appear in the items title are immediately searchable, but text beneath that level is not. Does it take some time for the search feature to log the entire text of the item? Or is this not intended to be a feature currently?

Hey Theory:
Thanks for addressing this. As of 8:15am Eastern Time, I'm still not having any luck. I sent the following text:
>remember @test
>
>I certainly hope this feature works.
>
>I really hope that I can search for unique words that don't appear in the items title.
>
>Peanuts.
And got back an "I don't see anything to do message." Has the change gone live yet?
