Really would like compression straps, and maybe a D-ring in the shoulder strap loop (south of the cam buckle) to pull on to tighten the strap, I put a carabiner in mine and it works great!

After eight years it's time to update my TB2 bags (& my wife's)... I have the cash and the BYOB designs figured out, but where are the compression straps? They are such a useful addition to the bag for carrying art tubes, yoga mats, newspapers, and anything else that takes your fancy. More importantly, I am so used to using them to cinch the bag tight when it's fairly empty that I don't think I can do without them. Any chance they're still on the cards? Thanks for your time!

Seeing the new bags are out I went looking for some with compression straps. But I have not been able to find any. Are they available now?

I was just about to order a replacement for my ~7 year old medium size messenger bag which is just too small about half of the time, when I commute on my bike and have to carry a laptop. But, when I'm going on the bus I don't need a bag as large as a medium. So I use the compression straps in that case to keep things from flopping all over and getting messed up. Now that I see that there are no compression straps on the current bags I'm going to have to wait to see if they are added, or look elsewhere. If I order the large laptop messenger the flop factor will be quite bad on days when I don't need so much room. Personally, I'd like to see any new compression straps make it possible to compress even more of the space than the original versions did.

We used to have the straps in our older models, but through the generations it was decided that this was not necessary. The bags were being stuff too full to use the strap. In the coming 2008 year we are looking into bringing them back on a limited basis for the custom bags.
