hawaii- That's odd. SMS is queued by your carrier. This has the effect that if we're down, the transmission is retried until we're back up. So, you may be seeing some messages that look old (but are actually not). – Jack, on May 15, 2008 00:53

During a deploy today one of our caching services was invalidated and restarted, forcing it to build anew. Given the millions of updates we see this can take quite a bit of time. All services have been affected.

We have the entire team working to rebuild the caches and bring the web service back up. Thank you for your continued patience and we'll keep everyone updated on our blog.

That's a bug on our side. Occasionally, our site will return an error to the javascript, resulting in this error. Is this consistent for you? What browser are you using?

Hello! You probably have a "protected account" which means that your updates are visible only to the people you authorize. People have requested to follow your updates, accepting allows them to view your updates, denying keeps them out!

Confirmed! Default is not to follow updates by phone or IM. You have to manually select to turn notifications on.
