Okay, I have the same darn issue. I was trying to participate in #litchat today and nothing I posted would go through nor show up in the search. But when I asked others to post for me they would. I am glad to find this and would like my cache cleaned too...I can't even figure out where to open a ticket. Sigh.

What I am trying to do with this Wiki is to replace something that broke on my website and I've decided not to fix. I used to have a database for authors to list their books and links to their teaching guides. But I had to enter it all myself and I don't have the time to do that and still write.

So I figured a wiki would work but only if the teachers and librarians can easily find the books that have the topics they want.

Does this seem possible to you? I think I might have to move to 1.0 - can I still use LT widget with the older version?

I do use Library Thing and hadn't realized I could add their widget. Thanks, Rachel. I'll play with that.

I need to make this easy for teachers/librarians coming to the wiki to find what they need.

Can I make a link in the sidebar that will pull up all the pages that have the same tag in it?
Or a list of all the pages with that tag?

For example, if 1000 people entered their books in my wiki and 100 of them are tagged with the word "picture book" and another 250 of them are tagged with the word "family" I want to have links in the sidebard that will pull up all the pages tagged with "picture book" and another one with all the pages tagged "family".

I may be asking the Wiki to be something it isn't designed to be - like a database - but I'd like to see if I could make it work.

For now I am using 2.0 but I think I will have to ask to be switched to 1.0 because I will need to make this available to a large number of people.

Yeah - that's sort of where I was heading with this. The Wiki is a place for a bunch of children's writers and half of them are early adopters of technology and the other half go into it kicking and screaming. :)

As for security, hmm....I was just thinking I already have all my images on my website and it so much easier just to link to them. I'll figure out how to deal with it. – SusanWrites, on April 25, 2008 19:35

Rachel, if you mean before on PBWiki - I wasn't. I'm new to this particular Wiki but not new to Wiki's in general. I just set up my 2.0 PBWiki last night so I could start on the new one from scratch.
