Laurie, thanks for the reply. To answer your question, Here is what I will need from a Web Services book.
1) Explain the industry standard architecture for implementing web services.
2) Explain the various API's used to construct a Web Service.(Special concentration on the various XML parsers)
3) Implement a complete solution on one of the Open Source Application Servers such as Jboss or Tomcat/Axis. (This should explain me all the required configurations)
4) A complete chapter dealing with how to secure web services.
5) How to implement transactions with web services.
6) A complete chapter devoted how to deal with different types of data.(such as BLOBs, CLOBs).

I know some of it goes out of scope for a Head First Book, but my be you guys can create a complete series of books explaining 101 Web Services and ending at SOA and design patterns on implementing Web Services architecture.

Create a path for developers to learn Web Services(Because it covers a wide scope) supplemented with Developers Notebook which shows you the minor details.

We've considered publishing a Head First Web Service title, but it's a broad topic. So I'll turn the question around and ask you, what topics or concepts would you expect to see covered in Head First Web Services?

Jason, Yes, I was trying "Save Link as" before also. I had 3 "head first servlets... pdf" icons lying on my desktop showing no. of attempts i did to download. I think the problem was corrected at the website's backend. May be the file is replaced with correct one (as Mr. Brett McLaughlin suspected), or the timeout period is increased at the server end. Mozilla can have problems with caching large PDF files such as this one. To get around this, please right click the download link in your account and choose the 'Save As' option. You can then save the PDF directly to your desktop instead of having to cache the PDF in your browser.

Where did you purchase the PDF? I'm assuming on oreilly.com. Given that, I'm already trying to figure out what the problem is; I'll make sure we solve the problems technically, and see if we can get you a corrected copy.

If you didn't use oreilly.com, let us know, so we can respond to that as well.
