Opera Mobile and Foursquare mobile don't get alongHi folks,
First of all, thanks for opening up Foursquare to international users, so we can see what the fuss is about :)
Unfortuantely, the mobile site doesn't seem to like Opera Mobile on Windows Mobile. Here's what I do:
1. Launch Opera Mobile and go to http://m.foursquare.com
2. Enter email/password and click on Go and...
3. Nothing happens - it's like the click is never registered.
4. In contrast, if I go to m.foursquare.com on Mobile IE, I'm able to log in fine.
Version info and other details:
- Opera 8.65 (Build 8124)
- Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional
- Samsung i600
- Javascript & cookies enabled
Some help please?

Hi Joe,
I did some testing using the "alert if <activity> exceeds .01 hours" setting that you recommended above. Here are my findings:
1. If the RescueTime client setting in the taskbar is "hide when inactive", the alert shows up.
2. If the RescueTime client setting is "always hide", the alert will not display.
I know it's an odd setting, but since the client is mostly silent, it seemed to make sense to me to have it hidden. Not sure if you can fix it, but this might be a gotcha for some users.
PS: The genesis of this weird test was seeing your screenshot above and noticing that the client was active in your taskbar. It's always the oddest things...

Hi folks,
It does seem like switching off the Bkite->FE integration has fixed this. I just checked in and my lat, long info puts me at under 200M from my Placemark.
Checked my Bkite profile in a browser where I'm not logged in and the location displayed is very different from my actual location.
Really really happy that I can finally start using Brightkite again, after waiting for over 1 year. Someday, Brightkite will release it's own Fireeagle bridge, but until then I'm off and running :)

Hi Lesley,
Here's what I tried:
1. Deleted the Brightkite -> FE link in my Brightkite account.
2. In FE, removed Brightkite's ability to set location. It can only read location.
3. Checked in again but unfortunately the vagaries of cell/wifi based positioning put me at 142 meters away from my office and outside the 100M privacy zone I had set.
I'm extending the privacy setting for the placemark to 200M and will try again. But if I've deleted the link between Bkite and FE, am I correct in assuming that the looping you mention above should stop?

Placemark privacy settings not respected when checking in through Fireeagle/API?I've finally been able to update my location in Brighkite from FireEagle using a new Fireeagle->Bkite bridge (This one- http://is.gd/2NiI5 ,for fellow Fireeagle lovers)
It seems like the implementation of privacy at Placemarks is somewhat flawed. Here's what I'm experiencing:
1. I have a placemark setup for my office and it's privacy setting is "Always private if I check in within 100 meters"
2. I check-in from near my office (from about 20m away) using the Fireeagle->Bkite bridge.
3. I check my profile page in Brightkite from a browser window where I'm not logged into Brightkite. It says I checked-in at "Location X", which is the name of a place about 500m away from where I've actually checked in.
4. I click on the link for "Location X". In the map window that appears on the side, there's a marker for where I've checked in.. and it's the exact location for where I've checked in!
If Bkite is receiving my Lat, Long info from Fireeagle accurately enough to place me on a map, that should be enough data to also know that I'm right next to a placemark and that the placemark privacy settings should apply - so is my understanding incorrect or is Bkite's placemark privacy not working?

Hi Joe,
Hopefully this should help explain what I mean by a "stuck" UI -
So the first screen-grab was taken at 12:30 PM local time. As you can see it says "what were you doing since 05:14 PM" which is actually from the previous day evening.
Even better, an hour or so later I come back and this time the UI says "what were you doing since 12:30 PM" which is exactly the previous time at which I recorded an offline task!
Does this help?

No "immediate notifications" for goals?Hi folks,
I have a goal setup for the amount of time spent on very distracting activities (Score of -2). I've set my alert to "notify me immediately" when I reach this number. Unfortuantely, I'm not getting any messages for the last few days.
Version Info:
Collector - 2.0.0.643
OS - Windows XP SP2
Network - HTTP Proxy

Hi Joe,
I spent a little more time looking at this, and I still believe that there is some problem with the UI. Take a look at this screenshot:

The screenshot was taken at 1:31 PM. The counter is stuck at 11:46 AM and 7 minutes which was the previous offline task recorded. This is the same behaviour I saw with the "15 minutes" timer I first posted about.
The screensaver I use is the stock "Windows XP" logo screensaver and it it set to activate in 15 minutes.
I don't have any utilities set to prevent my laptop from sleeping - my Power Scheme is set such that if I'm on AC power, the machine never sleeps.

Offline Tasks pop-up is stuck?Hi folks,
I upgraded to Pro recently - since I wanted the document tracking functionality and the built-in offline tasks seemed a nice bonus :)
However, I'm noticing that for the last 48 hours or so, my offline tasks pop-up has been stuck. 1st example - earlier today, after coming back from a meeting:
As you can see, it's saying that I've been away for 15:01 minutes from 11:18 AM, while the real time is 11:46 AM.
Example 2 -
Again it says 11:18 AM, 15:01 minutes and now the real time is 1:32 PM!
I just checked my dashboard for today and it's clear that the data collector is actually reporting the correct offline time to the service - abt. 2 hrs in a meeting for example 1 and 1h 4m for the 2nd example.
Can you please fix the display bugs?
This plus the missing filters glitch is making me a sad panda :(

I could be totally off-base, but I think this problem is more to do with timezones than how many hours are logged.
It seems like they are comparing users after "normalizing" to UTC - so if like me, you work in Asia where local 9 AM - 6PM translates to UTC 1AM - 10AM, you are always going to see some ridiculous "average user" scores.

The recent UI tweaks are awesome!I was quite happy with the addition of km/mile dropdowns for the "Distance Run" / "Distance Biked" questions.
Then I noticed you guys had added an option for cups, ounces and liters (really?) of coffee/tea drunk - which made it pretty simple for me to start tracking that.
But the real awesome bit was when i went to update my mood/stress levels today and I found the drop-downs for 2 different ranges! Thank you for working on my request :D
Metrics has been getting better and better the last month or so and I thought you guys should know that your users are really liking the changes :)

Calrion - Yeah I know :( . I've been faithfully checking this thread for updates almost every other day. From looking at the threads here, I've seen a lot of references to a big "push" coming soon that apparently changes a lot of things on Bkite, I'm just hoping that two-way FE integration is one of those...

I just spotted the extra drop-down in my "track" page and that put a smile on my face :)
One teeny-tiny request: Could you add an option in my profile that makes the choice of US vs metric sticky? Based on that option, I would love to see the dropdowns automatically default to the relevant option...

Um, I still seem to be having trouble getting my stats/reports to reflect the correct local time for updates - http://img398.imageshack.us/my.php?im...

Bleh in my hurry, I clean forgot about one more thing:
3. Could we get a way to see some of the most recent data for a particular metric. For example, if I want to update my mood and I'm thinking "yeah I pretty much feel the same way today as I did yesterday", then it would be nice to see what number I keyed in yesterday. So I guess it's related to question 1 above.
