You're right, if you upload two different statement formats then there's a chance the descriptive fields are slightly different which would result in the duplicate transactions you're seeing.

Very sorry about this, we had a short period of massive server load which prevented us handling requests. Everything is back to normal now and we're currently investigating why this happened.

We're storing all our receipt data on Amazon's Simple Storage System (S3) and it's fairly common for timeouts to occur when up- or downloading data, so this probably explains what happened for you.

That said, this isn't a great user experience for you! We're aware that this can be a problem and we have plans to make this upload happen transparently which will ensure you don't see the problem again. We're not quite there with this yet, but it's something we'll be completing in the coming months.

This sort of view of your outstanding invoices, time and expenses is exactly what we're trying to achieve with our Overview page. Rather than sending out emails, we'd really like people to be able to quickly log into their FreeAgent account and, at-a-glance, see exactly what is outstanding and what they need to do.

Is there perhaps something missing from our Overview page for you?
