.jpeg avatars don't always appear in Tweeties for MacMy Tweetie Mac version has intermittent issues with Twitter avatars that are .jpeg (note the 4 character ext).
It just leaves a blank avatar, but when I click on the avatar the image preview works fine.
Remy Sharp replied on June 07, 2009 22:47 to the question "Why won't my Twitter avatar/icon carry over to TwitPic?" in TwitPic:
I've offered to help offline, but I figured I may as well post it here too since I use Twitpic.
I wrote an app called http://twivatar.org which gives a permanent url the twitter user's avatar - if Twitpic used that instead of the S3 (or equally pinched the code - it's on github) then it would fix all the Twitter avatar issues that have been flagged up.
Just sayin' :-)-

Remy Sharp reported a problem in Vibrant Apps on April 11, 2009 09:24:
iCal integration is giving the wrong time. The "add event to calendar" ical file is loading up with the wrong time. It's being adjusted by 1 hour (I'm in the UK - and I believe the problem is linked to us being in BST).
I've looked at the raw .icns file, and I've been able to fix it by changing:
DTSTART:20090420T090000Z
to:
DTSTART:20090420T090000
Which gives it to the calendar app without a time zone, and hence it doesn't adjust. Obviously I've also added this to the DTEND.
I think this is important to fix, as you're giving the ical files to users who add the event to their calendar, but may actually be running from the wrong time now.
Thanks.

It's worth noting that it *sounds* like Twitter is close(ish) to having the resolution: http://tr.im/hope-

Remy Sharp reported a problem in Twitter on May 31, 2008 12:38:
friends_timeline API call suddenly requires authHi,
I've been using friends_timeline for a long time now, and today I've noticed it's asking me to enter my username and password for the API.
http://www.twitter.com/statuses/frien...
Whereas before, regardless of whether I was logged in, or if I wanted to change the username to al3x, I would be able to see the timeline.
What's suddenly changed?? Or more importantly - why?!? I can see the documentation said it required authentication, but the actual API request didn't - so there's functionality built around that feature.
Please, please consider removing this downgrade.
Thank you,
Remy Sharp.

This still seems to leave the door wide open for spam. If I don't follow someone, and I've selected to only see replies from those whom I follow - because of the last point: "But you'll see it in your replies tab, whether you follow them or not" - all the twitter apps that run on the desktop will invasively push these uninvited messages to us (because the replies feed acts the same way as the replies tab).

Remy Sharp reported a problem in ExpanDrive on May 19, 2008 09:09:
Disconnect issues with 1.2ExpanDrive seems to disconnect from remote host, though the app still thinks it's connected.
I usually keep ExpanDrive permanently connected to my remote machine, and with the 1.2 upgrade, after a while it just stops working. The drive appears to be connected (though the icon defaults back to a normal folder icon) and the directories I've already listed appear - but listing new directories does nothing.
This is a real shame, because ExpanDrive is such a neat tool I've come to rely on it. However, every upgrade since 1.01 has had problems for me (such as this) so I've had to keep reverting back to the old version (which works fine with regard to this problem).
Remy Sharp replied on March 30, 2008 14:59 to the problem "@replies from people I don't follow and don't follow me" in Twitter:
I've just tried changing the reply settings in twitter, and refreshing the API feed response.
Now, either those settings make absolutely no difference the reply API (because the erroneous reply is still in the feed), or the feed is cached and refreshed on the server side at X frequency (I can understand the later being the case).
You're right, the FAQ states pretty clearly that you shouldn't receive replies if you're not following them (or visa versa) - so I think this one sounds like a bug.
Remy Sharp reported a problem in Twitter on March 30, 2008 13:53:
@replies from people I don't follow and don't follow meI've been getting replies from people I don't follow and they don't follow me either.
I use Twitterific and found that the API call to replies.format does in fact include the reply - so I know it's not the app pulling it from the public timeline.
The replies also appear on my 'replies' page on twitter.com - but since we're not following each other, in some cases I can't see the original message they posted (though the text appears fine in the API call).
Does this also open the door to potential spam, for example - this guy: http://twitter.com/waydbot - is pulling names from the public timeline and replying to them. This could easily be used to push unwanted adverts/spam to users - and with apps like Twitterific, it makes for a very invasive form of spamming.
Is this a real bug, and is it something that's planned to be fix?
Many thanks for a great app.
Remy.
Remy Sharp replied on March 30, 2008 13:45 to the question "Is there a way to get a badge that does not show my @ replies?" in Twitter:
Hi - I'm not totally sure if this will help, but I wrote a JavaScript badge that handles this kind of thing for you (ignoring replies or including them, including friends, etc):

Hope that helps.

That's right - the slides do have tags, but going to edit, it appears as if it doesn't. I first noticed it going through this process:
1) Upload the initial slides - added title, description and tags. Saved fine.
2) Edited and modified the title. Saved fine.
3) Noticed I didn't have any tags - edited, added tags and saved. Saved fine.
(The uploading of updated slides and the 404 issues was much later on).

Hi Rashmi - thanks for getting back to me.
On the tags problem, if I select edit from 'my slidespace' the tags field is empty (or rather contains a greyed "separate tags by spaces").
I've check the source, and the input's value is "separate tags by spaces", and I've checked the page both in Firefox 2 and Safari 3 (both on a Mac) and they're the same.
Do you still want a screenshot? Happy to give more info if it helps.
