It should be the case that Apple Mail will send mail from pretty much whatever email you tell it to. Check your account settings to make sure that it's using @gmail.com.

Sandy was indeed a bit confused in her counting of details in daily digests. As of yesterday, however, she's got it under control, so updating or forgetting in response to daily digests should once again work. Please do reply here if such is not the case.

Sand does process any .ICS files you send to her and adds them to your calendar. Have you tried it? If so, and it didn't work, can you tell me what Sandy did do?

You can use 24-hour time, but you need to use the colon so that Sandy knows that it's a time. So this should work the way you expect: 'remind me at 16:30 hours today to check on proposal costs'.
