A comment on the idea "Windows alternative?" in Clearleft:
If you're concerned about users being distracted by the operating system and browser UI, we encourage you to run Windows in something like Parallels alongside Silverback. Whilst it doesn't officially strive to support this, we've heard that lots of users do it (and from what we've seen first hand, it works a charm). – nicepaul, on December 15, 2009 22:20

Duplicate or fictional? spotshttp://gowalla.com/spots/89044 is a duplicate of http://gowalla.com/spots/31118
http://gowalla.com/spots/87655 doesn't exist here

nicepaul replied on November 06, 2009 21:07 to the question "How should we handle home and work?" in Gowalla:
Maybe there could be a generic place called "home" which has no location in particular, which you can just check into to indicate that you're no longer at the last place you checked in to.
The way I see it working is that 'checked in at home' would appear on your profile page, but you couldn't click it to see who else is checked in there as it's not a physical location.
nicepaul replied on November 03, 2009 10:46 to the idea "Get rid of the chains please" in Gowalla:
A local Starbucks may be a meeting place for a group of friends, so it'd be a shame if they can no longer check-in there, and no longer see which of the friends circle is currently there etc. Chains shouldn't be removed, and I think it's the right choice to be surfacing unique locations through featuring them.-

nicepaul reported a problem in Edenbee on March 31, 2009 11:44:
"Recently active" groups bugOn the 'groups' page, the recently active groups are not arranged by latest activity. The homepage shows the top 4 groups from that section, so it's showing some groups with no recent activity, yet there are groups with recent activity which are hidden from view.
