This was fixed in the most recent release. The pages now read something like

September 22,
2009

instead of

September 22, 2009

and the date fits in the gutter.

We've noticed this; I don't have a ticket number to give you, but we know about it and have seen it ourselves.

I would quip something about "fixed in May", but that's not right.

I'm looking at release notes now. Here's what I can see that's visible to the reader:

1. "Quick links" navigation at the top of the page to call out featured stories
2. Photo captions for stories give photo credit and a caption.
3. Print stylesheet now prints nicely without wasted paper.
4. Home page has bylines.

The invisible stuff includes "security patches".

To take a picture of a screen on a mac it's "command shift 3" or "command shift 4"; 3 gives you a full screen, 4 gives you a selection.

Ruth - are you still seeing this problem?

The error message you were getting is a sign that some javascript running on the page was having a hard time completing because it took too long. It's possible that there was something else going on on your computer that would explain this; it's also possible that there was a bug on our side that generated something that didn't complete.

One additional possibility is some embedded media (photo, video) slow to load.

Next time if it happens the exact page would help and the exact text of the error message.

This particular problem was traced to a missing </form> close tag in a post. If you see a bigger, squarish comment box with an unbolded "Comment on this story" that's the problem.
