Good to know about the textile formatting toolbar, BUT Basecamp really really needs better text formatting functionality. Textile is not convenient at all and the more I use basecamp the more I'm looking for a way to format text so I don't have to upload word docs or other basic documentation.

hi.

first, we're sorry that you're having trouble with the app. Are you on 3G or edge. The app works best on wifi or 3G. the files get a little big for edge and the upload times out sometimes.

However, we just updated the iPhone app to version 1.2 this has the ability to add more compression to the images and the audio to make the upload smaller. This might work better on edge (although I haven't tested it yet). Those features are in the Settings area of the app.

hi, yeah that's a thing we haven't built yet. It's one of those features on the list that we really need to get to. However if you'd like to delete your account, please send an email to jacob@12seconds.tv with the subject something like "Please delete my account." (you don't need to be polite, but it can't hurt) and we'll wipe it clean for you. oh and make sure you provide your username in the email.

I apologize that it's not as convenient as it should be. We promise that we will build that function. But we thank you so much for you patience and understanding.

hey, that's a good question... I think when we implemented this feature last year we needed it. It's possible that Twitter has changed things since. We do need your Twitter password to post to Twitter from 12 until Twitter implements some OAuth type thing or "connect" function, but we'll look into the friend import thing ASAP.

BTW, I understand your twitchiness, but we don't store the password, we just use it for authentication for twitter to find your friends during that moment. I know you know that, but I want to reaffirm that point. (we do keep the password if you choose to update twitter with 12seconds. but we only only only use it for that purpose - just like most other services that update twitter)

I should add that I have not experienced this problem "recently".

There are typically two reasons why this might happen.

1. You are behind a firewall or some security that will not let the flash recorder through. This happens to me at my office. I work at Yahoo. I can use it if i'm on a wired connection there, but not on the secure wi-fi. This may also happen at schools. And is usually associated with wi-fi.

2. Our flash server is down. This means that no one can record for the duration that it is down. this has been happening less frequently as we are becoming more stable, but it does happen on occasion.

Let me know if you continue to have problems or if the first option makes sense for your situation.

hi tim. I have not experienced this problem. I just recorded a 12 in firefox and it worked fine.... let me try safari right now. Okay that just worked.

tim, can you let us know what your are experiencing?

yeah Safari still crashes. We are aware of it will continue to work to to improve it. Good news is that Firefox for the mac is stable on 12seconds (i am a mac user and safari user too, so I know how you feel).
