I have the same problem with Songbird 1.2 on Ubuntu Intrepid. My watched folder is /home/username/Music, although most of my music is stored in a mp3 player that is in a linked directory inside that one. I am pretty sure I didn't have this problem before 1.2. I completely uninstalled and reinstalled songbird, but it had no effect. Attempting to add the folder manually just leads to duplicate entries in the library.-

To be honest, I'm not sure of the details. I use a pidgin plugin that uses Galago, and it works very nicely. – zorblek, on August 27, 2008 05:53

A way to select search results using the keyboardIt would be nice if it were possible to select search results from commands like google and wikipedia using only the keyboard. It's a little jarring to have to switch to a mouse while using a keyboard-based interface, especially since the search results are displayed directly below the commands, which can be selected with just the keyboard.
Two possible ways of doing this:
* Use the tab key to shift focus from selecting commands to selecting search results. Fore example, you would type "g foo" to search for "foo" using google, then hit tab. You could now select from among the search results using the arrow keys.
* Use the tab key to switch between results for whatever command is selected. For example, you would type "g foo" to search for "foo" using google, then hit tab to select the first result, hit tab again to select the next result, and so on.
Thanks!-

You might want to check out Galago, which is similar to Growl.

Match other parts of command than just the beginningI use the desktop keystroke launcher Launchy, and one aspect of its interface that I would like to see incorporated into Ubiquity is the way it matches input against commands. When i type a command into Launchy, it matches that input against all commands that contain those characters in that order, regardless of where in the command name the characters are. For example, when I want to launch Firefox I can type "fx". Similarly, if I want to search Wikipedia I enter "wp". I find that this often makes it easier to select the correct command with the fewest kestrokes.
Thanks for making such a great tool. I love it already!-
