They all download fine, David. If you're subscribed with a custom feed, the links will be available at the same rate in which episodes are added to your custom podcast feed. Todd added a bunch of files at the end. All will be available to you, but at the update frequency you requested. If you'd like them faster, change your frequency. Or hit "release all" and get them all.

I exclusively use the custom RSS feeds to listen, and I have no issue. But I don't use Podcast ready, so I can't speak to that. Only to say that it *used* to work with Podcast ready, back in the day.

I clicked on the link you provided above, and it seems fine. Ran it through FeedValidator. Checks out OK. Added it to iTunes and an episode downloaded.

Seems OK to me.

I'll let smarter folks than I at Podcast Ready figure out any jankiness. Happy to help!

Are you having trouble getting Podiobooks.com pages to load?

It's been reported off and on again, and I'm curious how wide-spread the issue is. So here's where we find out. If you're having problems, and the date is ON OR BEFORE July 31, 2009, please add a comment. If it truly is widespread, then we'll do a little more digging. Right now, I just want to know if you're having problems accessing the site -- today. :)

I just clicked the link for Chapter 16 of Outcast and it worked fine.

But I just put the episode live less than an hour ago. It's quite possible that iTunes hasn't checked and refreshed the feed. Another reason to use our custom feeds -- they are updated immediately!

UPDATE: Just checked your custom feed, Arlene. It's there. :)

TGC is a brand new book that I'm personally approving episodes for. Well, that's not all that unusual, as I've been doing that for a while. But since it's so current, I can state with great accuracy that the ID3 tags are in place and *should* allow for proper sorting. So if any are missing, it's that known bug of some tags not making it through either the content syndication network, or getting stripped by the podcatcher. Both can and *do* happen.

Volume... yeah. I wish Derek would bump up the narration levels. It's fine if you listen to his episodes in a vacuum, but not so good when we run inserts before. Or even when your MP3 player moves on to the next properly-volumized track.

Volume level on some is an inherent problem. We try and suggest that the authors/producers maximize their volume, but some don't see the need. You see the need, obviously.

ID3 tagging should be consistent, though some of the older files may have problems. Also, there exists a problem where some ID3 tags are stripped off during the download. It's a know bug but has no resolution.

Tell me which book you are referring to and I can dig a little deeper.
