I think you've misunderstood me - I think readernaut is very a distinctive and original design. I was saying that anobii strikes me as a bit 37 signals ish. (which I like) .
I suppose I'm saying I don't mind a bit of clutter if it offers me the functions I'm used to.
One little feature that do like is the number of books added that anobii has. That's be a good one to ne 'inspired by'.
Cheers

Design First ImpressionsI thought it might put my first impressions here. Trying to take my duties as a beta tester a bit more seriously than usual!
I like the treatment of the menu items on the left but think that perhaps the main panel might struggle to cope when one starts to get a lot of books. Maybe a no-cover listing option?
I liked the design when I logged in. But then I found it a little big for my taste. I couldn't help comparing it with the service I'm currently using which scales things down a little and manages to squeeze a lot of functionality in. In fact it is in turn, a little derivative , but i like the simplicity.
I've included a scaled down screengrab of the one I currently use.
Hope the feedback helps - don't want to come across as negative, but thought it might be useful to give my opinion.
Maybe others could weigh in with their views

Bulk import of booksI've sent feedback, but thought I would add the feature request here too. Unless I'm missing something I don't see the ability to do a bulk add of my books from another service.
That would go a long way to suck me in!
Cheers-

Help us see the wood instead of just the treesTell us what you think of our websites. Our most recent (and contentious) site is the staff site. Swing by and tell what we've done right and wrong.

How about a HTML website?I love my ortlieb products and the customer service I've had, but it'd be great and easier to spread the ortlieb word if your site wasn't in flash
