Peter replied on August 29, 2008 00:39 to the question "Zivio availability in Europe/Germany" in Joby:
We are working on getting the Zivio to ship to Europe as soon as possible. At the moment we are awaiting the final testing and certifications necessary to sell headsets in European countries. As soon as these are complete, we plan on selling Zivios in Germany and throughout Europe.
Hopefully it won't take more than a few months to wrap everything up and start selling in Europe. However, when we launch in Europe we will be sure to let you know.
Thanks for your interest and your patience.

I always appreciate a company that offers quality service and good public relations. It makes one feel that they have invested in product that the company believes in and want each customer to feel good about haven't spent there money on. – listening, on August 28, 2008 03:07

I was using a Jawbone before everyone would always say I cannot understand you when I turned my car air conditioner up. I would have to suffer in the heat of the car to be heard. Then I got my Zivio and with the air conditioner full blast everyone says you sound great what are you talking on.
The Boom Mike makes the difference but that is not all I thought I was losing my hearing because I was always asking what are you saying. The first time a voice came over my Zivio and into my ear I had to turn it down. It was loud and clear. Best wireless headset I have ever used.

I'm terribly sorry you guys are experiencing issues with the earloop magnets. If you would please email us at support@myzivio.com, we'll be happy to send you replacements. Be sure to include your full name and mailing address.
I will also pass along your comments to our engineers so that they can factor this feedback into future versions of their designs.

I too have this problem with my Blackberry 8703e. If any body part, even my arm swinging when walking, comes between the Zivio and my BB, static and crackling occurs. This occurs even if I am wearing my phone and the Zivio on the same side of my body. I have owned several other high-end headsets and none of them exhibited this level of sensitivity to interference of the signal path.

I also get static from the Bluetooth. Bluetooth range seems like a real problem with this headset. If I hold my phone next to the headset it is crystal clear but as soon as I put my phone in my pocket it gets static. My other bluetooth headsets don't have this issue but I guess I am due for a new phone too.

Hi Califmom,
It was nice meeting you at the BlogHer conference. Thanks for your patience with this issue and please pardon the delay in our reply. We didn't forget you! In fact, it's quite the opposite - we've been working hard to solve the problem you described.
As we learned from our troubleshooting, it turns out that an earlier version of the software we were using had some problems with the Blackberry Pearl. Strangely, it was only the Pearl model which was affected by this issue. Our engineers have been working long and hard to fix this, and based on some recent tests, it appears we have licked the problem.
I'm sorry you happened to get a headset that had the older version of the software on it, and we'd like to do whatever we can to rectify the situation. If you're interested, we'd be happy to send you a new one along with a postage-paid return box for your to return the one with the older software.
If you like that idea, please email me at peter [at] joby.com and we'll make sure to get you a new headset.
Thanks!

A comment on the idea "Update Twitter's profile location attribute instead of tweeting" in Brightkite:
We are considering adding the customization options to set your Twitter location, like we do with checkins, notes, and photos. In the meantime, if you check in while in private mode and have your "everyone else" settings at city level, only your city/state will be sent to Twitter. I just tested this by checking into Brightkite HQ while in private mode and it set my location to "Denver, CO" instead of "Brightkite HQ". – Lesley, on August 20, 2008 20:13
Chris replied on August 20, 2008 15:50 to the idea "Update Twitter's profile location attribute instead of tweeting" in Brightkite:
I like the fact that the Twitter location attribute gets updated by Brightkite, but is there a way to make it set just the city, rather than the exact location? For example, right now my location on Twitter is "Starbucks," which isn't too useful, given that someone looking at my Twitter profile has no idea where on the planet I am. I'd rather it just set the city/state/country.
A comment on the idea "Attach Privacy Level to Location" in Brightkite:
Yes, that's true. It's not the most ideal, given that both services support varying degrees of precision and should be able to work out a way to share them more accurately and transparently, but it's not a bad work-around and isn't without its own benefits. I'll definitely try it out (while waiting for a better solution down the road) :-) . – Thom Watson, on August 16, 2008 00:04
A comment on the idea "Attach Privacy Level to Location" in Brightkite:
One thing you can try, which is actually what I do, is to set the accuracy level of your location yourself when you check in. I'm always in public mode, so whenever I need to check in to a sensitive location, I simply don't check into an exact address. I will check in at street level or using an intersection, then I placemark these locations. I am always in control of what information is shared with FE and Twitter and don't have to rely on the privacy controls. I realize that this is not a desirable option for everyone, so it is only a suggestion, but it could help keep the Brightkite/FE combination useful for you. :) – Lesley, on August 15, 2008 23:59
Thom Watson replied on August 15, 2008 23:41 to the idea "Attach Privacy Level to Location" in Brightkite:
Lesley, I'm glad at least that you're going to make what you do clearer, but it actually means that Brightkite and FE together just isn't useful for me. If I need to go into FE and change my privacy setting there each time I check into an always-private location in Brightkite, when otherwise I want my location in FE to be public, then why should I even use Brightkite? The alternative is that I set FE to show everything at an imprecise level, which also is less than desirable.
