Color coding is a necessity for me and the one thing that has been holding us back. The site we want to add spongecell to (www.heartofbrooklyn.org) represents six institutions in the Heart of Brooklyn and we need each institution to have it's events in their respective color. If you fold this feature into the calendar, Spongecell would be a no-brainer for us.

Anna replied on March 24, 2008 16:08 to the question "Event HTML Links" in Spongecell:
There are currently two options to add a website link in your event page.
1. Login to the promote center and click on customize an event page.
On the 5th item, check the box to enable HTML description.
Here you need to use HTML tags to link your website.
2. You can also enter the html link in the ‘Ticket Link’ field under 'Basic Info' for your event page. Adding an HTML link inside an event is not currently a feature, but we’ll keep you updated here on Get Satisfaction when it becomes available!

In reply to :
1. It looks like your RSS feed is taking some time to refresh. I will keep an eye on this and make sure that it updates. If not, we will investigate further.
2. The MySpace list view does not currently have an RSS feed link. "Social Networking" widgets are not the same as the "List View" widget and do not include RSS links.
Our widgets are going through major functional and performance improvements in the coming weeks/months to enable to tighter integration and functionality between MySpace and the Promote platform. Look for updates soon!

Andrew,
thanks for the quick reply. two things about RSS
1. the rss feed is including deleted events. see the bottom of the right hand column on www.onthewilderside.net
2. the myspace list view widget has no rss feed link. see the general interest box on http://www.myspace.com/onthewilderside
Andrew replied on March 07, 2008 02:12 to the question "RSS feed" in Spongecell:
hey there iwilder. You can view your RSS feed inside of the list view widget.
1. Click on your calendar or event
2. Create a list view widget
3. Click RSS in the bottom left hand side to get the feed
its as simple as 1.2.3. In the future we are going to make a link within the application directly to your RSS feed. I will let you know when this happens.

I would love to color code! I use my spongecell calendar for reminders, personal appointments, friend dates, work stuff, friend/co-worker trips, community events, and holidays, which starts to look a little messy. At the very least, I wish friend versus everyone events were colored differently, but I'd love to pick from a bunch of different colors. Better yet, maybe I could create different categories that each had a different color and default "Viewable by" setting.

Can I specify a custom link for my event page?Have you ever wanted to send a user to your event page rather than ours? Well, we have listened to your feedback and will release this functionality at the end of February.
This feature will specifically enable you to change the event page to one of your choosing. This link will propagate through the calendar and widget applications.

Tagging events?Events can be tagged for tracking interactions of users and for API calls.
Add tags to your event when you first create it. Then, contacts that add themselves to your contact list while interacting with that event are automatically tagged with those tags.
Finally, when you send an email or SMS message to follow up on the event, you can easily reach the people who are most interested in that event.
Here is how you do it!
1. When you create an event, specify one of more tags.

2. Then, users view your event through one of our widgets, and decide to add themselves to your contact list.

3.If you view the new contact (in the Contacts tab), you will see that they have an 'auto tag' that matches the one you originally set on the event.

4. Then, when you send an email or SMS message, you can filter to send only to contacts tagged with that tag!

How do I blast an email to specified contacts?Using Tags and another feature called Contact Select Spongecell lets you send e-mail blasts to specified contacts with ease.
Tags:

2. Compose your email
3. When you reach step 3, click on "Filter" > "Tags" and then enter your tag. The field will autopopulate once the correct tag has been entered.
4. Select OK
Contact Select:
1. Import and tag your contact list
2. Compose your email
3. When you reach step 3, select "Select Specific People"
4. Click on the e-mail address on the left hand side that you want to send to. If you make a mistake just click the email on the right hand side and it will remove that email.
5. Once all your specified contacts have been selected click on Finished.
