Negation keywords?Would authentic jobs consider supporting a negation search in keywords? For example, I'd like to use this technique to filter out positions that include certain terms like '-agency', '-"social media guru"' or '-Redmond'. That would let me construct fairly specific filters of my own making. Thanks!

Okay, I just got a new version pushed, and on install + relaunch, all my added feeds are gone again. I'm not setting them up again. The inconsistencies and untrustworthiness of the app with the data I want to see far outweighs the handiness of seeing Facebook statuses mixed in with Twitter. I'm done with this app.

Preserve contents of textarea for posts, if you click around.I just tried to lookup the @username of a user I don't know well on Twitter. I clicked on their name to bring up the automatic @reply mechanism in the textarea, but it blew away my post-in-progress. Beside a follower's full name, perhaps put their username. Or, better yet, if you click on a post, it adds their username to your post wherever your cursor is, within your current post.
Basically, make activity with an in-progress post work better.

Retain account & feed settings session-to-sessionEventBox crashed once today, and I just force-quit it because the main "recent" panel froze and I could not see new items. Both times, EventBox has completely cleared out my account information, along with the RSS feeds I added. That sets me back quite a few minutes of adding feeds and entering account information. Now I have to reconstruct or re-fetch those feeds. If this is a feature of being a Beta trying to get me to buy the product, I disagree that it is a good idea. It's just making me angry and makes me not want to trust EventBox were I to pay.
(If it helps, I had clicked on a link in an RSS feed, and the "recent" panel got stuck. I didn't see it get stuck, but that's what wouldn't let me scroll to see new updates.)
Also, it resets all my preferences, too, so the icon goes back to bouncing in the dock. That must be stopped.

Way to de-dupe feeds, or 'mute' a source or sub-feedA minority of my Twitter crowds also uses the Twitter-as-status-message in Facebook. Within EventBox, I get quite a few twitters twice or more, listed under separate sources. I know cross-app posting solutions solve problems that EventBox is also striving to solve—one-stop social activity, so you don't have to update all those pieces with different information. But seeing a message 2x or 3x times is overload.
My request is that there's a way to "mute" or hide feed sources—like a person (I'd mute their Facebook status reports) or even a sub-feed (I'd like to mute Facebook's Friend Photos feed entirely).

Cap on number of books?Nathan, you e-mailed me a while ago about some issues with the importer not grabbing my full LibraryThing import file due to the browser session timing out. Is that still going on? I tried the importer today, and it seemed much faster. But my account still says I only have 257 books, rather than the 447 LibraryThing says I have. In fact, 257 was the cap before it says it grabbed another 97 at my last import.
Any suggestions?

Thanks, Brady. I'm glad my confusion as to where my content was going might be of help to others. I really appreciate being able to note things in GetSatisfaction and hear your replies. – tiffehr, on June 03, 2008 19:43

Okay, now I see that if you uncheck "photos", no photos show up, even ones you post yourself. I find that to be overkill. What I expected of that feature was just a link to see the full photo instead of cluttering the display with a massive image. I would not expect it to supress *all* information about a post at all. In your reply, you mentioned that I had set my account to "hidden". I think that shows the difference in how you think about the feature v. users. "Hidden" is not a setting on my full account. But the ability to suppress full-sized photos in my friend stream should be.
And, incidentally, that still doesn't affect the truncated text message I sent yesterday.

Friends on Brightkite reported they see three photos for three attempts to add the photo I wanted over the weekend. They can also see a full post I added by mobile phone last night, of which I can only see half. Why would I not be able to see content I post within my own account? I don't have my posts set to "hidden", though I do have my profile set to private.
