How do we inform users about the notification process?(Posting on behalf of Otir, a new user...)
Otir just posted a new question to the Seesmic forum, but was not sure if/how/when she would know that her question had been answered. I let her know that she'll receive a notification from GetSatisfaction, and *then* her new question was where the notification would go to.
I let her know what the default was, and that assuming she had not changed the default, she would get a notice in her email box with comments/answers to her post. So the lingering question is: What's the best way to let users how notifications work? Maybe in the popup box that comes after submitting a new topic? Tell them when/where to look?
A comment on the problem "I don't get a warning that videos are waiting for me in my inbox" in Seesmic:
That would certainly be nice, although I think there is the option to receive an email already, which I have declined. My request was to see the green icon that appears on the tab, that immediately calls attention and that is NOT present when you log in after a closed session (I often close my browser for many reasons) – Otir, about 12 hours ago

I have this problem too...I've been traveling and working at client sites this month, so not checking Seesmic regularly. When I logged in today, I saw that I had a few direct video messages. It would be nice to have an option in which the system pings me/sends email/etc when I have messages 'waiting'.

Christine Herron replied 11 days ago to the question "I can't sign up to the pact." in Get Satisfaction:
I’m not sure where you have the issue, so let’s figure it out. :)
After you click on a Pact logo you should be sent to ccpact.com, which is a PBWiki-hosted wiki. You should then be able to click on the “Edit page” button at the top of the home page. Note that the edit password ("pact", as is shown at the top of the home page) needs to be entered. Once you're in edit mode, you can add your name and company. Hit Save and you're done.
I went ahead and added you since I was there to make sure I had the steps all outlined correctly, but please do make sure that I added you correctly.

I can't sign up to the pact.Hi Christine,
Like Mick Liubinskas, I can't sign up to the pact. The link on the image goes to the CCPT home page...
Can you help?
All the best

Christine Herron shared an idea in Get Satisfaction 11 days ago:
How to Support the Company-Customer PactAt this year's 'Customer Service is the New Marketing' Summit, Get Satisfaction launched an open source document called The Company-Customer Pact. Our intent was to help companies and customers communicate effectively, honestly, and transparently. The Pact provides a way for companies and customers alike to opt into a set of shared values while sharing responsibility with each other.
The Company-Customer Pact has been posted on a public wiki at http://www.ccpact.com. Support and public comments can be voiced right on the wiki pages. Having your voice included would be terrific!
Michelle replied 19 days ago to the question "when i go to my wiki it said i don't have access to that wiki" in PBwiki:
I too am suffering the new version of PBwiki that doesn't appear to allow people to log into specific wikis.
I have an account. I have a password to a wiki. I cannot access it because the new version (or I guess it's the new version, it's 2.0) doesn't allow me to log into the wiki. Anywere. Well, at least anywhere obvious, like at any of the three log-in links on the wiki.
This is not an improvement. And I can't answer the "Tell us what you think about PBwiki 2.0" question, BECAUSE I DON'T HAVE ACCESS TO THIS WIKI."
A comment on the problem "Web not posting tweets from people I follow" in Twitter:
I noticed the same behavior earlier -- new tweets were intermittently getting interspersed with older ones (though I must admit I didn't try logging out and logging back in). As of now, my Twitter "Recent" stream has stabilized somewhat, and I only see new tweets coming in. If you continue to experience this problem after Twitter announces the successful completion of the 'backfill' process, my suggestion is that you start a new thread here in GetSatisfaction to raise the issue. Uum...what I could not figure is why the timeline was repaired and then went away again as if 'my cache' was corrupted again having tried to be repaired. Since then I have signed on and off and get different timelines each time. The last twice I have got Tweets globally and had the same timeline. What is strange is the 'yo-yoing'. As if it rebuilds but keeps hitting a faulty bit and jumps. What is amazing is that a few weeks ago I was not even a user and now I am actually concerned I cannot see the people I am following. I have become a cyber-stalker! – adrian moss, 21 days ago

@biz mentioned above that they are "back filling the timelines" -- which to me means they're publishing all the tweets that we hadn't seen over the weekend. That explains why they're old. Once they've finished backfilling, things will have caught up with the present once again. 8-) As to geography, I'm not sure, but my guess is that you were seeing less US-based users right then because the tweets that were being back-filled or posted were sent hours earlier -- when people were still sleeping in the US. – mdy, 21 days ago

Woah, the timeline is all effed up now! Doc Brown, help! I am so confused. I do not know what Twitter was or what prayin' is. Tommy...TOMMY?
I tell you what good came out of this. We all learned how much we love each other and how much we miss each other in our little Twitterverse. I miss @MouseWords and "maybe" @Tindle, but not really. lol
We also all learned how effective getsatisfaction.com can be in bringing a problem pubic and getting some action. Okay, I know it's public. I'm not stupid. But I still want some pubic action.
Sincere thanks to @biz, @jack and @ev who I tease on a regular basis. But who is this Goldfinger dude and why is Twitter feeding him to the lions?
Catch up soon...
