This doesn't address the (fairly common) use case of getting emails from multiple accounts in a SINGLE inbox. E.g., my main inbox receives email addressed to 3 different accounts through forwarding. When I reply, it would be nice if the from address matched where the email was sent to, assuming, of course, I have that account setup.

Well, I have 2 accounts created, both seem to have equal footing in the account pane. E.g.,
- account 1
- account 2
- local folders

I actually have mail from account 2 already forwarded to account 1, so only check that inbox. I need to have account 2 setup so I can send email from it. So when an email directed to account 2 lands in account 1 and I reply, the reply address remains account 1. – Lev T., on June 02, 2009 18:28

if you receive emails from multiple accounts into a single inbox, replies should default to using the account the email was sent to.

When you have multiple accounts, the from field ALWAYS uses the default account, rather than the one the email was sent to.

seeing the same problem. When a conversation contains more than one message, selecting the text and hitting reply inserts the entire message contents rather than just the selected text.
