As an alternative to this, would it be possible to show heard/unheard status on the comments sections of the dashboard. I like to listen to every track that my "followees" comment on (as you can gather from my initial post above. In the absence of the "play all" feature, it would be nice if I could see if I've listened to their tracks before without having to click through to the track page.

Of course the ultimate would be a combination of the two ideas. The ability to play through all tracks, skipping those I've already heard.

We've been busy working on this and a couple other problems and new AIFF tracks uploaded shouldn't show the same kinds of clicking.

We're remaking all AIFF files uploaded in the last 13 days as I type this.

Hopefully this will fix your problem, let us know if you see it again.

Hi Eric, this does reduce the impact of the spamming to a certain extent - limiting users to only following a maximum of 2000 people reduces the scope for people following me. However, I don't think this solves the underlying problem that people are following strangers and not listening to their tracks simply for the purpose of appearing in the dashboard.

2000 is still a lot of people to be able to follow and to be honest, considering the limited management facilities on the dashboards, will result in an unmanageable account. I don't see the point in allowing this to go on. I follow about 30 people, and I find my dashboard hard to manage. There can be no reason to follow 2000 people and still contribute meaningfully to the community.

I've suggested in a previous post in this thread that you could limit the number of people a user follows to a factor of the number of people following them. So for example, if I had 30 people following me, I could follow 300 people. This allows me to expand my contacts, but prevents the potential spammers from spamming large numbers of people too quickly. If their music (and tactics) are any good then they'll soon get more followers which will allow them to spread their music further.

Don't get me wrong, I appreciate what you've done to address the problem, ad I'm glad you guys are taking it seriously. It's just I see this "spam" issue as a potential stumbling block for the community and I'm trying to help where possible.

This seems to have resolved the problem for me. Would be nice to have a "delete all" option in the second tab which would make it easier to clean up the "spam" :-) Of course, I think I've already suggested a multi-delete option in this thread: http://getsatisfaction.com/soundcloud...
